Can anyone comment on the sound quality through the headphones out? I've heard some people complaining that the headphone sounds is really soft or muddy? I have yet to try a P525 myself. Thanks. :)

Thank you for a great comparison video. It is very useful and informative. In my research of the P-525 I came across some information direct from Yamaha that may, or may not, address a couple of the comments you made in the course of the video. You mentioned that the CFX sounded different on the P-525 and the DGX 670 even though they are the same voice. Yamaha did all new sampling sessions for the sampling of the CFX voice on the P-525, and it is different then on any other previous keyboard/electric piano. Regarding the seemingly lack of resonance on the P-525, there are a number of possible explanations. In addition to the Reverb setting, there is a setting for whether the lid of the piano is closed, half-open, of fully open. You might check to see if the setting is closed and if opening the lid introduces greater resonance. Additionally ther is the GEM (Grand Expression Modilng) and VRM (Virtual Resonance Modeling) functions that allow extensive fine tuning of the resonance related parameters. There is also apparently the ability to modify the "touch curve", which might, maybe, possibly allow fine tuning of the weighting and/or grading of the keys as you move up from the bass end to the treble end. I Own the kawai mp7 se, the action has narrower keys but it’s been great to play on. Most people experienced key sensor issues, but i got lucky and got a board that was brand new and it never had the issues.

p525 and mp11se are digital pianos with the best action on the market aimed at pianists. The mp11se experience is better than the p525. Still, p525 is good enough and we can forget about having an MP11se to play piano at home at night.

Can you connect a pedal to this? And how long does the battery last when charged?

I have a P515. I went into a music shop to try out the P525 because I thought I might be missing out. I took an immediate dislike to it! The piano feel and sound wasn't as good IMO. Maybe its because the speakers were up against a wall I'm not sure about that. The sound boost feature is a must and makes a fantastic difference to the sound of the piano. You can change the key action . . I always use soft 2 which helps reduce the apparent key weight. The only downside is the weight nearly 50 lbs so really its not that portable. I love my P515!

Thanks for this review, based on this I bought this model from Oyayo on Amazon - but sent it back immediately: it was terrible! The volume of the keys varied hugely (with the same pressure the volume went up and down) and it wasn't possible to get any sound when the top quarter of the note was depressed (i.e. only the ends of the keys registered). Also the sound was more tinny than my entry level Yamaha which was half the price. Definitely NOT recommended.

I have midi flooding piano for sometimes.but the sound does not work now. I don't know how to fix

I bought one of those, and not only is the sound SUPER BAD, some keys all of a sudden will play super loudly for no reason. Cheap chinese crap, as usual. This should not be allowed to be sold without super strong guarantees and responsive customer service. And that is for all chinese sh** sold. They are flooding the world with crappy plastic stuff, including and especially kids toys, I don't understand how this is permitted into western countries.

I am really unsure of what to buy. I am not a good piano player. I am a song writer who wants to record his songs with a realistic sounding piano. Without having to adjust a bunch of things to dial in the sound. I also want a keyboard that inspires me to play and write songs. Right now i have a really old Yamaha that stopped working. And i want to replace it with something top end like the 525. Or something simlar but different. Something with very realistic piano sounds. I will not be giging with it. I will be recording into a daw. And playing it in my home. How much different is the 225. Or the Yamaha CK88. Or Roland 90x or Kawai 920 i think it is. I agree that the sound of the 670 seems more alive. Maybe i like the reverb sound. Is there only one really good piano sound in each keyboard ? I wish you had a video that just talked about there differences and Similarities. With just honest opinions. Most videos talking about keyboards are from stores. Or sponsers. And they will never give you honest opinions on what they think is better or worse about something. And where i live i cant just drive to a store to compare them.

hey man, thanks for this review, currently i have a cheap usb condenser mic, around $30, i plan to upgrade into a dynamic mics because my room is still noisy despite room treatments, also the downside of my current mic is that it clips when i sing or record vocals. is the k688 fine for vocal recording? im planning to slowly switch to xlr, but im low on budget and i dont have that much for an audio interface.
