I truly wish more people knew how talented Elvis Costello was/is, and how amazing his songs are. You owe it to yourself to go back and listen to his full collection, starting from the very beginning albums. The guy is truly something you don’t wanna miss.

One thing about Elvis, he experimented with all different types of music and mostly hit the mark. The other thing is how bloody prolific he has been throughout his career. The world of music is so much richer thanks to his contributions.

This entire album’s a masterpiece but this song in particular just left me spellbound. One of his best, probably in the top 5 best songs he’s ever written if I’m being honest… so glad I got to witness the live debut of this song in 2021

Elvis has written some beautiful ballads on this album. He is the king of exploration and diveristy and I love him for that and these treasures that pop up now and then.

This is like the very best of a McCartney song. Magnificent.

Elvis makes this tune his own and would have fit nicely on Spike.

Funny, listening to that. Eventually, music comes to you. I completely agree. I came to this short clip from discovering Chet Baker for the first time (I’m 50 this week), and saw the clip of Elvis playing with him. I’ve always been fairly dismissive of Elvis C’s music and it was simply because I’d never listened to it, just those couple of 80s chart songs. Then you grow older, and become open to music you may have missed and realise you really like it. As you say, eventually, music comes to you.
