out of tune i can even do better in 7th grade
Thank you so much
MR SUTHERLAND I HAVENT PLAYED CELLO IN TEARS AND I JUST STARTED UPAGAIN
Awesome thank you so much !!
who determines what's right and what's wrong
THANK YOU! Im the only bass at my school and my teacher never helps me with notes so this was so helpful!
I have been having trouble turning on the device, as in it doesn't always work for me every-time. I'll try to turn the tuner on but all it does is blinks a "10" on the top left and hums an A pitch. It would take a lot of pressing both "tuner" and "met" button afterwards before it could work properly. Have you ever had that problem before?
is this rabbath system?
OMG THANK U SOMEONE MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO
Yay🎉
Hi Mr Sutherlin this is savannah Guerra I'm in dobie 7th grade and hi
Hi! Hope you're enjoying it there!
@@MrSutherlin I am but schlather was a bit better
Hi
🙌🇧🇷
Unbelievable how hard this information is to find. Actually infuriating, I'm trying to support my son's practice but no one has answered me about this, it doesn't seem to be like other instruments as in put your finger on and off you go so it's hard unless you learn this.
Well I hope this video helped!
I want you.
so cool! thank you very much Sir
Glad you liked it!
Awesome video,thank You👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks really helped can u please make video for 2 other arpeggios
What other arpeggios or you interested in?
@@MrSutherlin the two other kinds of the g maj arpeggio. My teacher told me.
Thank you for explaining this so well! I just started Orchestra about 7 months ago and this really helped me thank you.
You're very welcome!
Thank you for this helpful video. But why first position is followed by 2nd position and not first half position?
Great question! The simplest answer is to look for efficiency based on level of experience. I didn't cover those positions yet because we haven't learned those yet in the beginner/intermediate level for the grades that I teach.
Thank you, great explained - crystal clear lesson for beginners on this topic 👍👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
Can you tell me please, if the headphone volume is adjustable?
Sorry for the late response, but yes it should be.
i would enjoy this but im a cello player but this was helpful
I do have a cello video as well that covers this. czcams.com/video/uOCrvMnsUAM/video.html
I'm a viola who is playing this in an ensemble with a bass, I love this song, it sounds so good
Thank you for this! Honestly I’m the only bass player in my advanced orchestra and I began as a cellist I’ve only been playing bass for a year and to be honest I sort of taught myself, since I was the only bass player I was just given books and I didn’t really have anyone teach me due to there being more of the other instruments. I’ve done pretty good now but due to being self taught I only remember finger pattern and at times forget note names or how they look like! I also don’t know my positions well due to never really being taught! So I just needed a refresher on it and this video has helped a lot!!
I'm so happy this has been helpful for you! Hope you're enjoying the bass still!
Thanks for the video
Hi, one of my teachers was a Cellist/ Bassist, she was Great! But also with The Internet you can learn a lot, my best wishes to your career, cheers.
Hi
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks, this helped a lot in learning the last notes I needed to learn
this is great, but i think you’d be a lot better if you moved your elbow more. my teacher is really strict about bowing and arm movement 😅😅
You're correct! Cello is unfortunately my weakest instrument. I'm still working on it all the time!
This is such a huge help to me, Im a cello player who just got tossed into jazz not knowing the basic fingering for bass and this really helps straighten out my kinks
That's awesome! I'm so happy it helped!
There is something about how a cello sounds that just made me fall in love with it
yes
Great video
I played cello for 1 year but my fingerings aren’t curved. Even I correct it, it gradually not get curved
So a couple things to consider: 1. How much of it is because of hand/finger strength This greatly affects the amount of flexibility you can control in your fingers. 2. Do you have consistently long nails? Those long nails do get in the way of everything on string instruments. 3. Move your thumb! Everyone's hands are built different in some way and so are the instruments depending on the brands and models. Find a place for your thumb, usually somewhere between your index and middle finger behind the neck, where you can still curve your fingers. Also, you can move your thumb horizontally behind the neck depending on what string(s) you're focused on. As you mature, you'll find the sweet spot. I'm sure by now. you figured it out. :)
I miss your class so much man 😭 (Student formerly known as Savannah)
U r the best
HARMONY!!!! I didn't play at steele until April 2022 lol also this band is sooo good!!!
This is so sUs
I used to be a student of Mrs.Brian it’s been so long since I’ve seen you!! I hope you’re doing well, I’m in marching band going into my junior year next year.
Great bass fingering tutorial. I am just beginning with this instrument and my teacher is having me do an exercise with down then upstrokes as i move from G to D to A to E and then back. First with 4 on each, then 2, and so on. Can you suggests others?
i havent seen someone do this by using the low b and c sharp instead of the high b and c sharp
I'm a bass and my conductor forgot to print a bass part so we play the cello part.
Very similar parts luckily!
wish I watched this when I was still a viola😞
I was gonna have a playing test on a piece and I couldn’t remember how to play a low three
can any one tell me the notes instead of sheet music?
im sorry but you need the know the names of the notes on the staff because it’s not easy just telling you, there are many different versions of notes on your instrument. besides it a lot of notes lol
B A G A BB EEEEEEEEE D ED EFGFD EFGD AA B A G E D A D first 4 measures or something
B, A, GABB, EEEEEEEE, E, D, ED EDFGFE EDFGE AA BAGFE, D, ED EDEFGGAABBBBB, GGGG AAAA BBAAB, GGGGAAAA BAGFED.
