I know this is an old video and from reading the comments most of these people were in diapers when Muscle Man was figuring this stuff out back in the 90s. I've had the privilege to be with Muscle Man as he won every shootout that he entered his 96 and 128 pill builds in. If it wasn't for pioneers like Muscle Man you all would still be running barefoot. I'm not saying that's a Muscle Man box but I guarantee it has won thousands and thousands at shootouts. Black tape is your friend when you only have 5 minutes to get your mobile to the line. Don't judge this box. It's the great grandfather to the box's you run today.

I am a newbie to creating amps. And being this one has 96 pills. WOW. I love talking on side band. And when I was living in Texas, there was a guy talking from New York. He blew everyone away. Nobody could talk over him. I wondered what kind of amp he was using. He was extremely loud! Maybe one like this. Now about this amp. With today's standard, Yes it can be updated much better. I had an uncle that smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day. I never smoked at all. Well when I was a teen, I only smoked one thing and it was not cigarettes. My son took one drag and said, yuk, not for me. And he has never smoked from that point. Now to that radio, wow talk about bad. One of my cousins gave me a computer well, yup a smoker, and it was so bad inside. Everything was brown. And the smell was really bad. Wow, I have never seen anything like this one. Man everything mus be secured. Everything. Inside the walls of that radio, looks just like the computer I received. Its hard to believe he was talking on that radio like that. Man, that could damage things. Just like that. This system could have ended up really bad with loose things inside.

I had the cortisone shots and all kinds of other shots, unfortunately I do take opioids. I will be getting shots again. It never ends.

Definately NOT the switch, as it SHOULD still work with the "SSB Delay" turned off - it would just "chatter" with modulation. Ergo, something ELSE HAD to be the problem! So, what transistor is that? A 2N2222, or perhaps a 3904?

Greetings: Back in the 90s I modded up a 667 (call it Frankenstein) around the high 9s on AM/FM and 1100 on SSB comfortable. I did B+/-, caps, Txtrs, resisitors, fan (with vented case) and re-ran some of the wiring. I also changed the lights and meter as LEDs. I started on a Friday afternoon and had it in my truck Nrte 2 deliver Sunday night. I ran it a week on a big coil antenna ( I named Joust) I built as a prototype, (later poorly copied as a Monkey Made). Both did really well. Later Joust went on 2 win many 'shoot outs'. In my humble opinion. I feel like a traditional, obviously cleanly tuned, Non-drail radio should have been utilized on the Palomar. There's a chance the Hot drail is freaking it out. Overtaxing the amp circuitry and exacerbating the signal spread. On the waterfall. My opinion. ✌
