I actually used to do this at a pawn shop I worked at. Had a dude that sold high end flashlights like this all the time. I've gotten to the point where only a certain level of brightness can really make me HAVE to close my eyes. That's how you know its a good flashlight. Honestly it has less to do with the cut of steak and more about how you prepare it. And this goes for basically all food, try to mimic something else or cook it in a way that doesn't suit the ingredient and ya it's most likely going to suck. Treat a cheap cut like an expensive cut and all you will be is disappointed.

Australian meat is extremely sought after overseas due to its quality, but there's a huge difference between grocery meat, butcher meat and local meat (where the farms are within 50km of buying). Store meat is fine, cheap enough to have for every dinner if you ration it properly, but it's tough and grizzly. Butcher meat is around 2-5x the cost of grocery meat but is great, consistent texture, rich flavor and so on. Naturally the best meat is locally culled and eaten soon after. Maybe it was just my family but everything seemed to be overcooked, in combination with cheap ingredients? Just gross, better off eating a salad
