Sorry to ask… are you playing the ‘I want to tell you’ riff wrong on purpose? Listen again, then play it, as it was originally played, just on the A and D strings. Lot easier, and much more authentic.

(Very) late to the party. Excellent sound setting examples and playing. However, what was the signal path? Into your DAW direct with some amp sims? Via a modeller? Into a mic’d amp out of sight?

Yes, the playback heads selected still impact things. Engaging the Swell/Repeats switch adds a reverb-like effect to the tone :)
Can it be used without pedal?
No, the Gypsy Vibe needs to be used with the expression pedal plugged in (like the original, 1960s Uni-Vibe).
I just wanted to compliment you on a great demo and description of the Boonar features. This was very useful. Sounds great! Good demo and fabulous playing. I like the mk1 and 1.5 Tone Benders, so this is familiar and pleasant... but the edginess of the low volume sounds is something else, entirely. I'll bet it would sound great between a Telecaster and a tweed Pro. .

whats the difference between this and the funky vibes ? besides the money..
In terms of price, the Sabbadius (with a foot controller) and the Argenziano package sell for similar amounts. The Argenziano is a bit more expensive, but this one also comes with a hardcase. The differences are mainly tonal. We also have a demo of the Sabbadius Funky Vibe up on the channel (czcams.com/video/HW0sPAyQKbQ/video.html). Do you have an idea of the Vibe tones you're after at the moment (favorite player, tone from a specific track, etc)?
@@ElectricMojoGuitars my buddy just bought the funky from you , with my nudging , but then i found the argenziano and yes I love some floyd pompei but i think i would enjoy something that doesn't carry to many artificial characteristics and would lend itself to funk and alternative more so .. 🙏. and do i get a lighter with it ? lol✌🏻💯

@@drfunkology8164 Awesome. The Fillmore is my personal favorite :) If you'd prefer something a bit more laid-back (think Gilmour), the Sabbadius 69 and the Argenziano are the ones I'd look at. The King Tone 1968 Vibe could also be interesting if you'd like to access more extreme speed settings on-the-fly for funkier stuff :)

I've had one for 2 years. Your demo made me get it out of the drawer and try again. This time on a lap steel with humbucker pickup to (hopefully) keep the noise floor down.

Great demo... if you had to choose between this pedal, the CC-1 or the GC-1, which one would you choose? Thanks.
It would really depend on your personal needs and on the other drives currently on your board. If you're looking for one drive that can do a lot, go with the GC-1. If you already have the medium gain section of your board complete, then the CC-1 would be the perfect addition for lower gain tones.
@@ElectricMojoGuitars - Thanks for writing back. From my experience the G-2 and SS-3 pedals really only sound good if you play them LOUD at gig volume. Anything under that threshold is lackluster. So, I'm wondering, which pedal would be better for lower volume playing/gigs... the CC-1 or the GC-1? I find the P-2 to be way too much gain for my tastes. I like lighter gain overdrive sounds. I think I'm leaning towards the CC-1, but I suspect the GC-1 can do low-gain stuff too. I'm really on the fence with these two pedals. Any further elaborations would be greatly appreciated. Again... great demo. Great playing. I really enjoy your Cornish videos, great stuff!
@@gabrielperrymusic What other pedals do you currently have on your board? What amp are you using? Have you owned the G2 and SS3 before? If you're unable to 'push' your amp at home, the GC1 might be a better fit, as it'll add some grit/beefiness at lower volumes more easily (the CC1 is a great tool to push/shape an amp for 'edge of breakup' tones, but the GC1 adds actual gain a bit more easily).

I think Stu swapped the neck on this one for a neck made by Brown Bear Guitars.
