A lot of people that talk bad about Jim need to realize that he died at 27 and never got the chance to better himself or grow, we were all young once. But everyone talks about how he was a bad drunk and this and that. Not everyone has the same upbringing, his father was a career navy guy, and they weren’t too close.

Val Kilmer had just previously sent in audition tapes for the movies Full Metal Jacket & Henry Hill(Ray Liota) from GoodFellas. He obviously didn't get the role, however along came a little flick called The Doors...and who resembles Jim Morrison more than any other person on the planet? Val Kilmer of course. I mean the acting could have been terrible(of course it was brilliant!), yet you'd still have to give him the role just for the simple fact of how much he resembles Jim Morrison alone!! Look up old interviews of Jim and compare them to Val, the resemblance is uncanny!!!
