I presume the 'Mach E' began the testing with a full charge (if not then this comment/question is mostly irrelevant)? As stated by the Lt., each 20 mile track session consumed 30% of the battery, and between sessions the vehicle was allowed to recharge on a level 3 charging station provided by Ford that brought the battery to 80%. If my math is correct, then the level 3 charger added 10% charge capacity between runs, how long was the vehicle connected to the charger to reach the 80% level? Or stated differently, how long did it take for the 'Mach E' on a level 3 charger to recover 10% of the battery? Last question, how similar is the 20 mile test session that consumed 30% of the battery, to typical police work? I understand this may not be the proper forum for these types of questions, thanks.

if an agency is going to use SUV’s (which they all should aside from maybe Highway Troopers), then why even bother w the PIU when the superior Tahoe PPV is a better option?? And please, the expedition is NOT comparable - it’s a soccer mom vehicle with red and blue lights added

I've been in a my 2012 Tahoe since 2011. Almost no problems. However on narrow neighborhood streets, it's difficult to flip around on a speeder. Great for interstate, but since there are so many barrier cables going up handling the medians doesn't really matter. My 2021 PIU Hybrid is being upfitted as I type. I believe the Tahoe is a close 2nd place to the PIU. Dodge isn't even in the same game. The Expedition is not a PPV it's an SSV at best.

the new 2020 explorer police is still column shifter?!?! so, I don't think this is the electronic transmission like civilian model in 2020-future. In 2011-2019 model they use the same 6f55 transmission no matter the 3.7 or 3.5 ecoboost which is interchangeable but some mods is needed.

As a police officer, I prefer the interceptor utility. The Vic is great in a straight line, but trying to drive when it’s wet, or when you’re taking a lot of turns is a nightmare. The utility’s AWD is mind-blowing impressive. I’ve taken soft curves at nearly 100 and the car was able to keep me on the road. Plus the 65mph rear-end capability is a godsend. I know several officers that have been rear ended on the side of the highway and walked away without a scratch.

Not to mention, Sedan VS SUV - lets see how many of them want to be in a crown vic when a collision occurs... And, the second a car leaves roadways the crown vic was finished and calling for assistance/air support just to relocate the other vehicle... All this said, if agencies are going to get an SUV, I still don’t understand why they don’t go with Tahoe PPV or SSV (if in heavy terrain/rural areas)...
