Reset & Recharge Day with My Pets | Beach Day & Horse Bodywork
In today's vlog, I take a much-needed reset and recharge day! 🌊✨ I pack up all my pets for fun-filled morning at the beach. 🐾 They had the best time playing in the sand and soaking up the sun.
Afterward, I head to the shops to choose some new sheets and then we head down to the Gold Coast where my horses Tarek and Aragon get some well-deserved bodywork done!
Join me for a wholesome day of relaxation, sunshine, and horse care. Let’s recharge together! 💖

It’s never necessary to punish our horses and obviously every behaviour your horse displays is unique to that current situation and is a direct reflection of how the horse is feeling. Honestly disappointed, sorry to say, this is use of negativ reinforcement for the fear of negativ reinforcement. I would be much more sceard of my horse becoming sceard of the water on his belly, then sceard of him learning to move away, aka physicly signal discomfert. this is negativ reinforcement with a cookie on top. And while you do end with the mindset I have, you see yourself not useing positiv punishment as the good, but you are useing negativ reinforcement, teaching your horse to put up with instead of communicate with you and this i see as just as bad and will lead to bigger reactions, becouse his voice is not being heard. If it was so neccesery to wash him under his belly, would it not been smarter to fill a bucket, stand it in the sun a bit to heat up, then use a sponge. I see you constently rewarding to little, and useing negativ reinforcement when you do not get what you want. I do not say it to attack you, I am only a outsider viewing in, and I belive you do not stand for the things i see you do, thereby I wish to tell you. www.fairhorsemanship.com/are-you-using-r-or-r-with-a-cookie

    Doesnt this still teach him, that he has no choice and is forced though it? Like isn't it learned helplessnes, cause it's pressure and release, even if you reward the realase with food as well....Im not trying to hate or anything because I love your approach with clicker training and pretty much all I saw from you so far, Im just trying to understand the thought process here, because it looks kinda like the typical horsemanship approach of "they learn that the pressure goes away when they stand still" which in my experienced only leaves a horse that gives up their fight, not looses their fear

    • @Charlottegunders
      @Charlottegunders Před 5 dny

      I live in a humid climate with lots of bugs and rain, unfortunately baths are sometimes necessary to maintain the health of their skin. Before this moment he had no issues being bathed and had never reacted like this before. He’s currently being treated for ulcers which is a possible contributing factor to the extent of his reaction. It was 30 degrees Celsius this day and he was sweating just standing still. This isn’t how I would train a horse to be hosed if a horse had never been hosed before. This was just how I troubleshooted the situation in the moment. If I had of removed the water the moment he reacted he likely would have learnt that moving away from the water was what bought him relief and so he would be more likely to do it again next time. Instead he understood by the end that although uncomfortable if he stood still it was over pretty quick and he got some yummy food rewards. If this was genuine fear and he was over threshold my approach would have been different ❤

    I like your training a lot! I personally don’t make my horse put up with cold water because I wouldn’t want to be sprayed with cold water either. When I bathe them I get buckets of warm water from inside my house, and only bathe them on hot days. My house is very close to our hitching rail area so it’s pretty easy to do. I do offer hose spraying to them at liberty on hot days. My gelding loves it but only on his chest and neck mostly. My mare wants nothing to do with it. I don’t force them to be sprayed with cold water.
