For all my childhood, I was accused of faking my illness and "wanting attention", and a 5 minute diagnostic test at the age of 23 changed my life.
What happened to you is more than maddening. It’s cruel. A 15 minute test. That’s all it took. Terrible.
Who was your GP back then, the one who said "I don't believe you"? If you're reading this, GP, let us know on what basis you allowed yourself to express such a belief. Especially since we're not talking about a religion, but about science.
I blame your mother, your family, your friends, your teachers, doctors, nurses, and the society. I wholeheartedly blame all of them whether you agree with me or not. It's been a long time since people should do better and they still are not. Many such disorders are left undiagnosed and so many sufferers of various diseases get blamed for them, or for faking them. Society needs to do better.

They were HORSESHIT to do that to a little kid! I got alot of crap about my health problems too. I nerded out but they still they I'm a hypochondriac. I called today to ask my gp for a cf chloride sweat test and the nurse was like "I don't know what that is" so she had me call the blood lab, that guy said "I've never heard of that". I couldv'e slapped tham! How uneducated they are.
im so sorry for all you have been through ,my son is half black lives with undiagnoized CF , he went into IT work as well , he uses a asv machine at night because his lungs collapse during sleep since a young boy he is denied genetic testing for CF even if we want to pay . When he goes for his lung appts he is screamed at for his unability to push much air doing spiromerty test . His pancreas is going it is mostly replaced by fat He is so exhausted , no social life , he is giving all his energy the little he has for his job then he crashes . im so glad you got diagnosed ,im glad you finally met some fair unprejudiced employers. I dont know why there is first the doctors who dont want a dying young CF er not diagnosed , its unflappable to comprehend the cruel evil to sentence a person to a life without treatment and diagnoises , but they do it, why i cant tell you , as far as the rest of the regular population that discriminate are irritated by CF ers i dont get that part either , i guess its realizing most humans souls are dark .

Thank you for this heartwarming video, I’m very sorry to hear about the injustices you’ve faced. Ignorance really does cause this. I do have a question. You mentioned that you had an A typical mutation of CF. I had a genetic test done and it said that I had CFTR gene however into the gene code, it said “A” which they didn’t know the significance. I’m just wondering if it’s the same as what you have the A typical.

Hi. I just came across your videos. I would absolutely love to talk to you about CF. I am 48 and have always had Bronchial Problems. I am now couging up white mucus phlegm. I habe been put on antibiotics. I am a veteran. I can relate to your story with the bullying and such. I am from America. Oklahoma. Central Time zone. Had the same haopen to me and my wife. We got out XSX from Fingerhut, so of course no help from Microsoft. Was really hoping for a solution but instead, I get a English fella on a rant and all he did was replace the unit. Bah!
Haha atleast yours came back working...mine is now third time in the shop 1st green screen of death...they shipped it out...repaired it and then sent it back dinged up looked like they took a crow bar to get into it...sent out a second time gave me a new shell...and take a guess though...it won't turn on so back for a third time and still won't give me a new one..how about that

Which is why I have to wait a few years before buying the Xbox Series X. I'm planning to buy it buy this October or November. Once I opened the box going to keep the box with me like month or year, and keeping my fingers crossed so it doesn't die on me like with the Xbox wireless headset and Oculus Quest 2 and the Switch.

Hi there, I've received yesterday my brand new Xbox Series X and exactly the same thing happened! Did the setup, downloaded the update and started to download apps and couple of games. An hour into the download I saw a green screen coming up briefly and the console just switched off. I looked into it, followed Microsoft troubleshooting solutions, youtube videos... impossible to restart it, it switched on for couple of seconds, flickers and switch itself off immediately! Luckily I did not bought it from Microsoft but from a reputable online store. I went online applied for a damage product received, I then decided to call customer care to inform them about it before return it... Guess what there as well, their solution was a refurbished Xbox series X, after arguing I was told that Microsoft will not replace the Xbox for a brand new one, even tough it wasn't even used and failed a few hours after receiving it! My solutions was simple, I gathered box, documents, delivery note, did a small video, sent back the console with a tracking number and informed my credit card company to block the transaction, luckily laws in Switzerland protects consumers from such situation! My advice to you all is to buy it through a retailer located in the same country as your are, pay with a credit card, so that you can ask for a charge back to your credit card company! It is sad that such big companies turning billions of profit treat their customer in such a way, this would have never happened with Apple!
So I came upon this video because I just had the same issue with my console, except I had it for a longer period, I had it for almost one year coming this October. I realize that some of your complaints are misinformation. I'm literally doing the process right now for device service & repair and during the process it actually says the following: "Important: Packing Instructions Please do not send any additional accessories (such as an Xbox wireless controller, power supply, cables, headsets or physical media) with your non-functioning device unless otherwise directed. Please note, the original retail box should not be used for shipment. It will not be returned to you." So it seems you didn't read correctly and made assumptions that you have to send your controller and original box. Guess this is lesson to you to always read things carefully.
Firstly thank you for taking the time to reply and your insight. Please be assured at the time I did read everything that came up on the screen. And in fact, I visited the Microsoft Store in London shortly after and they reported EXACTLY the same thing with box. That said, you make a valid life lesson to always read things carefully when they come up. Once again, I appreciate your time very much.
Sucks bro, I've had mine for about 3months and only used it for my the apps and a game here and there until I went on vacation to fully dive into it Long be hold I went to play it today and nothing, absolutely nothing went through every troubleshoot there was and nothing, how is it Microsoft won't replace the faulty products they put out with a brand new console Well my ps5 will be getting all the love this yr. Ridiculous
Hiya. Yep, totally sucks. Months later I do forget that my XBox is not a new replacement, but then I'll also remember to avoid buying direct.
I’ve had mine for several months and I was playing a game and it just shut off. Has been working just fine until now. Opened it cleaned it and still won’t turn on

@@michaelglickman it was completely dead I had the wrong cord plugged into it that worked for a little while and shorted out I replaced the cord game came straight on
I had mines for 8 months until one-day it will take forever at the Xbox series x animation logo on startup. Did this on and off for weeks I submitted a repair and the sent me the same console with a note saying they performed extensive testing and everything was ok. It still did the same thing after the fact. But also came back with cosmetic damages and like something was loose inside the unit when I shook it around a bit. So I called and complained and they agree to do a standard exchange. So I sent it off again and this time they sent me a brand new console with a different serial number even though they said it was a refurb unit. That was cool. But before recieving the new replacement I had nothing to play on so I went out and purchased a brand new Xbox series s downloaded everything etc turned it off for awhile came back later powered it on and it did the exact same thing it did with my first Xbox series x . It stood stuck on the Xbox animation startup screen forever. What are the chances of 2 different consoles doing the same thing I don't want to send it off for a third because now my new replacement Xbox series x is doing the same thing also. Been 2 months since I've had the new replacement. So so far for me I've had this issue on 2 Xbox series x and one Xbox series s
I understand you. I had the same problem TWICE. They send me my repaired xbox back but after one month in broke again. I will never ever buy anything from Microsoft again.
Was it on Energy Saving Mode or Instant On mode?
Hi there. Definitely not Energy Saving Mode when I first turned it on. I checked those settings when it did turn make on. But then shortly after, it switched off . I saw the fan gently moving and then stop completely. Fast forward - no activity at all.
@@ishad9976I have an Xbox One S and it had the same issue until I switched to Instant On mode. I bought a Series X just recently and I just don't want it to have the same problem.

Just got mine today. New. It’s labeled as serviced but it is in fact new… they just do a bunch of them in the factory specifically for situations like this… it’s new… let’s put it like this, you have a higher chance getting a lemon if they swapped it with a retail new one.
I got an Xbox series X from someone around 2 weeks ago, and for the last few days it’s been doing this…
Waited patiently for a whole year and finally scored a series x a couple of days ago. After 10mins gaming, black screen, turned off and wont restart not the light, no start up tone just completely dead. Will be taking mine back to Currys/Pc World for a full refund, stores have no stock to exchange. No way am I accepting a 'refurbished' item from Microsoft on a day old £500 top tier piece of electrical goods. If it was 6-9mths down the road, that's different. My trusty old one x is just gonna have pull overtime for another year or so until Microsoft get their shit together.
Same thing happened to us on day 2. We bought at best buy and they are ordering us a new one. We wait. I agree that Microsoft should have a better system in place!

my series x died 2 days ago wile play halo 5 it wont even flicker its complete dead
i have it since launch but only play with it a few hours i treated the console like a raw egg from day one no scratches nothing the idea of getting a messed up refurbisht console now hurts my soul.....
I had mines only a day. But not barely 2 days. I was playing The Last Stand Aftermath on my series X and then 45 minutes later my console got Bricked. :( i hope Microsoft can repair it after ive registered my system into their site.
Frustrating is not even the word! I'd love to see some form of acknowledgement from Microsoft at some stage, but we know they need to maintain their revenue numbers. Would love to know what they say about repairs.

@@ishad9976 turns out. I went to gamestop today. After showing them my reciept. They will call me if the series x is on stock and if I go there when the system is stock. I am free to get a replacement.
Mine shut off mid game I assumed I had it in too constricted of an area so I moved it to a more open area to keep it from overheating. It happened again so I just went to bed but now 9 hours later my doesn’t turn on doesn’t do anything whatsoever. I’ve only had this a week and a half.

@@ishad9976 purchased it through a local target but they were no help with warranty however Microsoft was more then happy to take it in for warranty. I actually just got it back today.

@@ravenclaw-514 it was a huge pain to get my questions and problem solved. I read the policy of the chance of getting a refurbished unit, so i asked them if there was a chance to avoid this and them sending me a regular series x and commit with my halo edition. They had told me the easiest way to get a replacement with a new one was returning it back to the original retailer you bought it from. So thats what i did i contacted walmart where i ordered it and they told me that they were unable to replace it due to it being out of stock and wanted to refund my money I told them no and took the chance with microsoft, the peeps at ,microsoft made it very clear to me that since i have the halo edition xbox they would do their best in repair my console if they couldn't that they have extra new halo editions for this kinda of situation with the halo series x. so overall its been sent this morning but microsft really needs to work on their support wings and stop transferring you to different peeps
My Halo Series X limited edition has the power supply failure. Mine just flickers for a few seconds. Guess I’ll be trying for a refund if Best Buy doesn’t have a replacement

I used my brand new halo edition X 3 times, came back from vacation and does the same thing. stays on for couple seconds and turns off :( thought i was going crazy before i did some research online.... Can people tell me what happended when they sent in their Halo edition X to microsoft? they got a serviced unit?

I suppose it's all a matter of how you look at things you're right they are like gold dust to the point where you're lucky if you find one new at retail price. I don't think Microsoft has millions of units on standby ready to ship at the drop of a dime I think everyone is just struggling with chip shortages now which means they probably don't have a large inventory waiting to replace customers broken units which would mean the only units they probably have available would be refurbished units and I know from experience giving everyone a new unit right away would be unfair the simple fact is not everyone treats their equipment the same some people treat their equipment badly or do not properly use it if you put your Xbox series X in a poorly ventilated area where cannot exhaust its heat properly that could contribute to this issue or maybe the customer dropped it but didn't leave any marks that would be damage caused by customers negligence or neglect so it would not be fair to give those people a new unit because they did something to cause there Xbox to break and shocker not everyone is truthful when they contact Microsoft so Microsoft has to assess the situation before they can make any promises to a customer. so basically what they do is they make sure you didn't do anything to break it . or maybe they just didn't have any available units in your country the fastest way to get you up and running again with sending you a refurbished unit. let me ask you a question would you prefer to wait a couple months for a new unit or wait a week for a refurbished unit? and there's always the option of you getting your money back from the seller. and buying a new one when they become available again.another question I would like to ask you is how long did the entire process take from when you shipped it from when they shipped it back?
Hey, thanks for your reply! You raise valid points. If mine had broken down at some point beyond Day 1, then yes there could be a plausible argument for a refurb - but I have to dig my heels on a Day 1 breakdown. With regards to your first question - I think if Microsoft offered me the choice, I would have to think about it. But Microsoft took that decision away from me. And it has lead me to perhaps consider not buying a console directly from Microsoft. For your second question, the whole process took around 12 days. The cheek of them was for me to pay £23 for expedited. One thing I also didn't like was that Microsoft said to use my own packaging to send the console back. I didn't see why I should incur costs after a Day 1 breakdown to source a suitable box and insulation, especially when the original packaging enabled safe transport. But I didn't know that they would keep the original packing!
@@ishad9976 I think you're pretty much the exception to the rule I don't think a lot of people's consoles breakdown day 1 that's probably one in 500000 at least. and it did initially work when you got it out of the box? I think you said you were updating it and it took 24 hours so no one ever offered you a refund or will you not able to get ahold of someone? the only thing I could think of if it didn't overheat is that maybe it turned off unexpectedly during the update if a console unexpectedly turns off during the update process it can definitely break it. but I'm sure you already know that. so what are there any more problems with it?
Just got mine from GameStop and it does the same problem… guess I’ll be getting a refurbished from Microsoft unless I can get GameStop to give me a new one. But I have the same beef with them about sending a refurbished…

Yes GameStop is a horrible company to buy new consoles from because of their policies any other store would be better. GameStop's policy is actually better for used consoles than new go figure. I actually ran into that problem when I bought a PS4 that I was having issues with it I got it brand new from Gamestop two weeks prior and they acted like I was trying to cheat them when I wanted to return it. they refused to give me my cash back so I had to call a regional manager that okay the refund they. basically have the attitude if it's new it's the manufacturer's fault and not GameStops. I've never bought a new console from Gamestop again. and yes EB Games is ran by GameStop.the laws are probably different in Europe but if a company doesn't want to give you a refund they don't have to here police would view it as a civil matter and not force them to give you the money back.
Retail isn’t any better. I bought mine from EB Games, they said since the box was opened they couldn’t refund the system only replace it, catch is they have nothing to replace it with so I was sent home with a broken system and told to wait for up to a month for more supplies to come in. Where are the consumer protection agencies in all of this?
Hang on, so EB wouldn't refund a faulty item because the box was opened... ok. That's wrong on many levels. I'm sure there is a Sales of Goods Act somewhere. It is crazy!
Heyo, my series X just went through the exact same problem yesterday and I've only had it a little less than a month. It just completely shut off on me in a middle of a game with ABSOLUTELY no warning. I went to turn it back on, shrugging it off as a simple power issue and just like that, no response. I eventually went to troubleshoot the problem using Microsoft's costumer service page and other websites alike and to no avail. Eventually called Microsoft and filed a return order but damn was this whole situation annoying.
Hiya! You managed to speak to someone at Microsoft? Well done! I had zero luck with their call back, otherwise I too would have filed a return order. My "refurb" is still working fine. Just not happy that I've been given one after Day 1 failure.
Mine worked fine for 5 days then made a very weird noise while it was turned off and now wont turn back on again. Highly doubt it was a power surge as all other electronics in my house work fine. Very annoying.

Same exact problem here. I bought mine through xbox all access via Game Stop. Not sure if I should contact Game Stop for the return or Microsoft. Either way it sucks!
Hiya! Thanks for your reply! I totally agree it sucks, and still doesn't sit well with me. It has put me off signing up to All Access, and I think I will stick with buying through Amazon next time.
@@ishad9976 Here’s my update, I ended up contacting Game Stop first and they told me I had two options; They could refund me for the portion of the console, but not the 2 years worth of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. OR, they would send me a brand new console (I went this route) free of charge. They said if this one gets bricked I can return it within 30 days and take a refund for the console as mentioned earlier. Fingers crossed the second one works LOL!
