    I went from a manual F430 Spider (conversion) to a 458. The 458 is superior in all driving aspects to the Scud, but in terms of interior quality, the Scud is much better. The Scud will hold it's value much better than the 458. But comparing a Scud to a Speciale? No contest. The Speciale is so special, it holds its own in value even to the Pista and I think the Pista is a better looking car. Those wheels and tailights though have to go if I owned it. Would I trade my 458 for your Scud? That would be a hard choice because the Scud is special.

    Rivian was always marketed as an adventure truck. The issue is how Elon/Tesla marketed the truck. They set the bars, get the product falls short in some aspects. They built the hype for over 4 years, and it just diesnt match the hype. For example, you speak on build quality, but what would be difficult about building the interior of the truck? Its large slabs of plastic and a central screen lol.

    • @OMGcarguy
      @OMGcarguy Před měsícem

      You are correct. I think delivery day in TX showed the CT in a workhorse type of manner. From pulling to turning radius, to showing images of it being in a work environment painted the picture for many. If they did any sort of camping lifestyle media, it's skipped my memory. At least if they did, it wasn't a strong message or image that was set by Tesla for the CT. However I think they can redeem themselves through the types of accessories that they (Tesla) or 3rd parties come out with. If add ons put the CT in more of a lifestyle function, then that will define the truck. Time will tell. Tesla has came a long way in terms of build quality. While the original S and X and 3 and Y were rightly critiqued, I have to say the refreshed models really stepped it up. The new/current S and X's are a huge improvement as is the new Model 3. However I would say the CT is even more solid in build quality than all those. Something as simple as shutting the doors and feeling the solidness of it all speaks a lot. And while the interior remains simplistic in its design, all the function that you need are still available. If you are a seasoned owner of any Tesla cars previous, then you can get into the CT and feel immediately at home. Some may like Tesla''s approach, and others may not. I guess it comes down to personal flexibility of adapting to Tesla's way or preference in terms of liking the old approach with hard buttons. Personally, I don't mind either.

    @wstevenson2004 Před měsícem

    Great video. I think "truck people" are still not convinced that the Cyber truck can actually give them the same or better usage as that of a typical Ford, Chevy, Ram, etc. fossil fuel truck. If you pay $80k-$100k plus for a fossil fuel truck, you'll get a whole lot of truck such as a top of the line half ton or off road version. They can haul and tow very heavy loads at great distances. So price wise, the Cyber truck is competing with another category of truck. The novelty of having a new unique Tesla won't get those die-hard truck people to switch, which is where the greatest volume of truck buyers reside. I personally love it. I have a Chevy Trailboss right now that I bought during the pandemic. I love the truck, but I don't off road or tow a bunch. I haul my gfs and my Harleys from time to time to areas where we want to ride. And yes we're riders but we don't beat the road up like we did when we were younger. I haul small things like the trash or a piece of furniture or something similar from time to time. Maybe some mulch for the flower beds. I've had my Trailboss for just over 4 years and have only put like 36k miles on it. So yeah, I could make the Cyber truck work for me no problem as far as the rangeit offers. The nearest charging station is less than 10 miles away. I live in a fairly rural area, so it's not bad. I paid around 50k plus for my Trailboss. I think you can get in a new one for somewhere in that range as well. So what's the motivation to go Cyber Truck. It's a real question for me as I've already been contacted by Tesla to choose my design. Yes, I ordered early when the price was 39k for entry level and I think 70k for the tri-motor. The Cyber truck is next, next level design wise. I love the forward thinking by Elon. It will take sometime for the general public to accept the design. People are not good with change which is why most trucks still look similar to trucks from 10-20 years ago. Hopefully people start accepting the Cyber truck and stop all the hate. It's really starting to hurt the value now. I was sent a like bu CarGurus yesterday tha had nearly 100 used Cyber trucks for sale. Shocked the hell out of me. Why are people selling???

    • @OMGcarguy
      @OMGcarguy Před měsícem

      That's the thing. There's so many options for all types of buyers with their unique needs. Not sure why there would be any hate for anyone's personal reason for what they want to buy. We should all just enjoy what we have and let it end there. I live in a place where there are a lot of hills and inclines. Had an Escalade that would struggle to get up the hill. But the instant torque of an EV just makes the drive all the much easier (for me).

    I have 4000 miles on my AWD Cybertruck now. I was one of those 1127xx reservations in GA. I ordered in Dec and did not take delivery until the end of April. I drive 40 miles through ATL to get to work 15-20 days a month. We also took a road trip to NJ to visit family. The truck has had zero issues so far. I have done the same 2000 mile round trip drive to NJ in a Model 3 and Model Y.... The cybertruck is a far better traveling machine. As you mentioned it is crazy quiet inside and the air suspension with huge tires is incredibly smooth on the highway. It is my favorite cross country machine. I think Elon intentionally withheld FSD to make all of us fall in love with steer by wire and driving the Cybertruck.

      Scott, that’s a theory if I ever heard one. LOL. But I totally agree I love driving this thing. It’s unlike any other Tesla ever. Too much to quantify and perhaps the only way for people to understand is to drive any other Tesla model and the CT back to back to feel the quality in difference. That said, I would prefer to drive it than to let FSD take over. For now at least. Maybe traffic on the fwy might be the few times I’d use FSD. Congrats on your CT!

      I can see why the design may not work for all, but it’s undeniably unique. Very much like how the Delorean still captivates the audience whether good or bad. It’s still a design that stuns people in real life. I personally think the CT is just that but on steroids. On that note, I’ve seen a few now in the local area. Probably 6 different CTs or so? Hard to say because they come in the stainless steel finish and I can’t tell if I’m seeing the same truck over and over again or if they’re all different owners. But to date I’ve seen them about 6 times since the release…so still not too often.

I typically drive one-handed with my hand in the middle of the top flat part. I still have enough leverage to make a turn. But moving from a round wheel to the flat position in the CT does feel a little weird. My go to in the CT is at the 10 now and it feels natural. It’s a personal decision and what you’re comfortable with in your purchase. Obviously this pertains to all things and especially something as expensive as this truck. For me the decision was rather easy. Subjectively I just love tech but on an automotive level I love anything that has an interesting design. And IMO the CT has to be one of the most fascinating designs in the last decade. I also live in an area with hills so the dual motor made sense. Didn’t need to go 0-60 in under 3 seconds with the Cyberbeast and didn’t want to wait until 2025 or beyond for the RWD one. What also helped was the aging Escalade that I had which I sold and put towards this purchase. But no wrong answers here. I will say when you get yours you will love it.

    Hey, i see you had just recently picked up the MX. Quick question for you - in the time frame that Tesla originally gave, was the delivery toward the start, end of that window? I'm about to place order, and ETA was given from now 'til March 2024. Thanks. Oh, and glad to see the QC has improved ! I was all worried if i need to go all out with inspections during delivery.

      Our order had a long story behind it. I'll make a video to tell the tale, but to give you a direct answer, the order was placed on Nov 30 2023, and delivered on Feb 1, 2024. The delivery ETA that Tesla gave me had changed a few times but ultimately those were the dates of order and delivery.

      No matter what always look the details over. But they have definitely improved in quality of the cars overall.

      For the price (Non Plaid with $7500 EV credit taken off MSRP) it’s a lot of car for the money.

      @OMGcarguy Před 6 měsíci

      Yes! Tesla must have heard to complaints and moved the horn back to where it should always have been.
