Quick question if you're just going to trash the material and keep the metal wouldn't it make more sense to just burn the fabric off of it? To make the job much quicker to get the fabric off of it that way only the metal remains?

Thank you so much for this video. I was wondering why mine was not working but apparantly the battery door must be shut for the camera to come on. I did not realize that the little flap things comes out to allow the cord to properly fit so that the battery door shuts. You saved me a huge headache. I thought my camera was fried. lol

You really didn't have to untighten the motor. If you drop the belt on one side under the motor shift to gears so you could take off the other side and the belt completely comes off. I just did it today. The only time I used my ratchet set was to take the cover off and the pulley.

With that engine, you can take the gas tank out of the holder so the cap doesn't leak, and lay the mower on the left side...won't hurt a thing. Then you put the trans in 5th gear, with the rubber disc all the way to the side of the engine pulley/drive disc, so you can get the belt between it and the rubber wheel without having to loosen the engine bolts. And you can just loosen the deck idler pulley, you don't have to remove it. I could replace that belt in 8 minutes, not counting the plastic deck cover. (30 years in the power equipment business)

If you do a lot of this I'd recommend getting a cant hook that has a log lifter attachment.

Its always 10x the tank size for gph.. urs is 30 so u need a filter that does 300gph

Hopefully u could answer but I just got one of these and I see u have a TALL 20-30 gal but I have a 20gal LONG not tall and does it matter if the strainer at the bottom is maybe a few inches from the bottom of the tank floor, I can’t make it shorter just longer, wondering if it really matters?

I like my old metal axe head wedges best but on what your doing I've used a piece of tree as the wedge and I've used tree branches as a wedge whatever will keep the top from shutting if you forget to bring a wedge

This is a very informative video. The more I learn about Snapper mowers the more novel I find them. They are very simple machines but seem to be very durable. They can also be repaired with common tools and parts seem to be available. I am looking at one with an 8 horsepower engine, twenty-eight inch mower deck with a steering wheel. I have no idea how old it is. Would like to find a bagger attachment but they seem a bit hard to find and expensive.; I can only suppose that the wiring would be similar for any electric-start Briggs & Stratton engine. The only improvement would be an actual wiring diagram but your use of arrows was quite helpful.

Any idea how well this will hold up to very cold temperatures during winter months? I'm considering this exact project to hold a canoe (bottom) and two kayaks above. I'd use end caps to prevent water from entering and cover the entire thing with a quality tarp while everything remains outside. My main concern is if the plastic ABS can tolerate the cold while supporting that kind of load?

Nice design ... I would copy except use 2" pipe ... I already have a couple pieces ... PVC pipe and fittings are not that cheap anymore ... current prices for 2" white schedule 40 PVC pipe 10' lengths is $17.74 x 8 = $141.92 ... 2" schedule 40 PVC "T" fitting is $4.95 x 24 = $118.80 ... total is $260.72 not including glue ... too expensive .. will have to rebuild wooden rack.
