Woke up early with the nagging sweet memory of the Homewood taco feed. Would go every year, as kids we would grab the lunch trays from the cafeteria and sled down the hills! I miss the old days, furniture racing and panda playing music at the warming hut!

Such a great resort. I learned to snowboard at sugar bowl but u live two minutes from home wood so it’s my home resort and I ride every day in the winter..I’m going boarding right now I’m on my way y’all!!!

Homewood is PRETTY awesome! It reminds me of the smaller New England mountains I used to ski at growing up. LOVE that Homewood has resisted being bought out by a major resort corporation, and that it retains it's more "rustic" Tahoe roots. And I do think it has the BEST view of the entire Tahoe basin. Other mountains have great lake views, BUT, at Homewood it feels like the lake is front and center. Never had lunch over at the South Base lodge by Quail chair, so definitely going to try it when I'm there MLK weekend. The other thing I like about Homewood, is it looks deceptively small when you drive up to it via West Lake Tahoe Blvd., BUT once you get on Madden chair and start heading up mountain, you realize it's a fairly sizeable mountain, and actually offers a LOT of terrain.

I think it's sad that the smaller, less-expensive areas are all being bought up and turned into wannabe Vails.

Looks to big, where are the guests going to park. This will make more traffic than there already is on highway 89, think of all the congestion, this will create.

This is the legacy of overbuilding that will be left for generations to come! It will be empty inside the off season and overloading our small community with traffic during the high season. It is overbuilt and taxing on local resources. Doesn't show the multi story parking structure or the hundreds of vehicles that will be trying to circulate through the lodge area and pack out to parking on hiway and side streets. What was once a prime, unassuming family resort will now become an overpriced, underused playground for the 1%. Been skiing here for 30 years+. I will not step foot on the property and will be ashamed of its existance in Homewood. JMA you are set to ruin a jewel for your personal gain. I hope you can live with yourselves after adding to the destruction of Homewood.

I started skiing in Tahoe when my family built a home in the early 70's. We had Tahoe Ski Bowl and Homewood to ski at during the winter. I personally think to much money from the Dot Com area of Northern California has come into play here. The charm of the West Lake would be destroyed with this development.

As someone who has been skiing at Homewood for the better part of two decades now, these proposed changes are downright depressing. I'm glad this project has been tied-up in red tape for years, and I sincerely hope from the bottom of my heart that this project fails before it can ruin Homewood forever. Homewood is special precisely BECAUSE it isn't crowded, expensive, and consumer-oriented like the other Tahoe ski areas. It's a small-town family-focused area, with amazing views. Don't ruin that

If this goes through, homewood will lose my business as well. This will make Homewood worse...Northstar's parking situation is horrible because they have a mini-mall surrounding the mountain, forcing the parking to be far away. Right now Homewood is awesome because you can park right at the bottom of the slope. Are we to now expect $100 lift tickets at Homewood to pay for all of this?

really its pole cam the whole time how about an edit you know side shots helmet cam come on the resort has the money for 3 cameras and skiers the pole cam you can even see the terrain

I love Homewood and would rather ski this mountain because of the "Homey" small time resort feel. If I wanted to ski a resort like a Squaw or Northstar, I would have already been bending over paying out for that luxury. Leave Homewood alone!

We did have some bad luck with the power last season. Not sure if this was that day or not, but I do remember it being an epic day. Looking forward to many more this season. Hope you'll be able to join us for some!

Homewood's Master Plan focuses on lodging and an improved skiing/snowboarding experience vs. a huge retail component, so we will definitely strive to make getting onto the ski hill as easy as possible, both for overnight guests of the resort and day visitors.

will there be a fast and easy way onto the mountian? because at all the other ski villages you have to walk forever to get to the hill.

@powdahound2012 No. We've got a couple of SnowBomb Lil' Air comps for the kids, but not the Big Air this year.

I used to have a home in Chambers. I miss Lake Tahoe more then anything in this world. I used to ski Tahoe Ski Bowl before Homewood merged with them. So many memories. During the summers we use to water ski early mornings and late sunsets. Obexer's Market used to have their famous meatloaf sandwiches and Sunnyside used to be a boating club. Someday I hope to return and retire in the Homewood area of the lake. Homewood has changed a bit but there is no place I rather be.
