Looks like a fun park. Sucks about your finger, hope it heals quick. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Larifari's matched with the Angled Souls, that whole skate looks like an awesome setup. I just ordered some JAD straps for my Factions, eagerly following the tracking across the oceans :D
JAD straps are awesome and you will not be disappointed. So far the frames and plates are feeling great together. The creates are always my go to but I noticed a difference in speed compared to the angled souls. This setup feels very dialed in and slides great on park. Looking forward to hitting some street with them.

Great to see your impressions on the soul plates. I'm still on the fence about them, the cost is the biggest hurdle. They make sense if you love the boot and you plan to stay with it for the foreseeable future, but if you like to try new boots every year or more then the investment doesn't make sense. The BS groove is odd that it's angled that much, I use the AG60 frame, which is taller (but hardly a tall frame) and I don't want to groove it deeply so I'd only ever be on that upper outer edge of the BS groove. Could you try it with say your Kizer with the flat setup to see how it matches? The foam insert is a great idea, like the way stock Faction plates come on the boots. I'd be interested in a comparison between the 2 Faction plates, your Adapt plates and the AS plates on the Factions.
I totally understand the investment if you like to try different boots. I enjoy factions and carbon free/gawds style boots. So I feel good about being able to use them on multiple faction boots. What are your favorite skates or which ones would you more than likely use the plates on? I definitely plan on trying some different frames with my current setup to see how they line up. I actually have some ag60 frames I can throw on to check out as well. If you have a instagram I can send you some pics. Also JAD has a great video using the ag60 on his angled souls setup on some THEM skates. I skated the Adapt plates a few times before getting my AS and I can honestly say the AS outperform the adapts all day long. So much more control on souls and a better lock on groove tricks. I thought about getting the AS for a few months before I decided to reach out to get mine made. I’m truly happy that I decided to get them.
@@justintribett I’m currently on Factions as well, the OG black with blue eyelets. I swap my frames around between AG60 flat and Creates anti. Going to have a play on Oysi medium soon, and I’ve got some Symetrics I’ve been meaning to give a good test. I’m really happy in the Factions, if I was to get AS, it would be for them!
Oysi frames are fun. Have you tried masterblade frames? They are my favorite flat frames on the market. I’m anti at heart and the masterblades are the closest feeling for me. The flex in the factions really enhance the souls angle allowing you to push your ankle and knee over what you are grinding. Not to mention the will slide on anything.. I did try the symmetric a few years back and wasn’t a fan. Felt a little high centered and a bit clacky. They slid well but didn’t care for the banana rocker and noise they made, plus again I’m mostly anti fan.
I haven't tried Masterblade, don't really see much about them these days. I was anti previously, but trying to make flat work now, AG60 with dead 56mm 92/95a right now is feeling great. I would like to try an Entente frame, maybe their flat frame. I think a machined UHMW frame like that paired with a machined UHMW soul plate like the AS would give a great grind! I've got Intiution Premiums in my Factions, gives me the perfect flex with support, the stock liners were a little too floppy for me. How do the AS feel on short grinds (like your park ledge) compared to stock, is there a noticeable difference there? I don't have too many long ledges around me.
Entente frames are nice. I have tried all three that they make. The lafari are almost identical to creates frames. Your ag60 setup sounds nice. It will probably be the same combination for me whenever I get around to trying them. As for my short park ledge, the answer is yes it slides better for me with the AS. The concrete behind the square coping in rough shape soul stock souls and up getting caught in the groove between the concrete and the coping. With angle it glides right over it. They are constantly smooth on every surface I have tried.

Nobody else guessed, and I saw the spoiler on IG today :D Angled Souls incoming! What did you think of the Adapt plates? I tried them on my Factions, but felt they weren't solid enough with just the UFS bolts, they need the support bolts IMO. They slid nicely though. Interested to see your impressions of the AS, I'm soooo tempted to pick up a set!
The adapt plates felt really good actually. I did modify the holes slightly to get mounting bolts in to make them more solid feeling. Also with the 10.5/11 shell you have to cut out some of the plate on the top to fit the width of the faction boot. Small spoiler: I really enjoyed my first session on the AS!!! let me know if you end up getting a set or if you need help with the adapt plates. Thank you 👊
I find hard wheels in the middle when riding flat helps. When I touch, it grips/slows rather than bites/stops (most of the time), and I can push through it. I was riding those Dead 58mm 92a wheels flat in the Iqon AG60s for a few months and mostly loved it. Having a play with anti rocker on Creates now, which is fun too!
I really enjoy skating flat but after 29 years of anti/freestyle I discovered it throws off my timing when jumping. I’m sure I could probably get used to it but I also skate fast and like to not worry about wheel bite at all so I can focus. If I had a legit skate park with ramps and coping I would consider actually switching over.

I dremeled the omni shell and had to use intuitions to fix the omni ankle pain issue.i also had to throw on kekoa straps for some added forward flex
Saw your set-up on L vs. R yesterday. I made the exact same thing (unless you did both) but black. Riding 50/50 black anti's & 60mm all Black famus wheels. So stoked to try them out since I'm trying a smaller shell but I still have some snow up here in the Northeast so it'll be a little bit. I'm putting in Intuitions but am impressed with their liner. I have the SPV1 in a 43 but feel like the liner on the "midnight" version is slightly different. I can't put my finger on it though. I'm curious what your thoughts are?
So I have noticed each version feels slightly different even though they are the same design. I think it comes down to the material used on the skins constricting the shell some. The first run of the whites felt very stiff,hard for me and the break in seemed to take a little longer. My SP felt the softest out of the box. I haven’t actually tried on the new white ones yet but I think they will have a similar break in like the first round judging by the skin texture. I am waiting on some more parts to come in before I officially set up my new ones so it might be a week or so before I get to try them out. My final setup might change a little compared to the LVR. I literally threw things in the box as a joke and didn’t think Ben would actually post it haha . Your setup sounds sick, I love the famous wheels. So fast for a 60mm!!! And I LOVE the stock liner in the factions. They are a little thick at first but the break in is totally worth it. I hope you enjoy the midnights 👊

Slight optical illusion from my camera angle. The frame channel is about average depth.
Thanks for this. After trying the stock liner and my intuition premiums, I can’t get past how painful the heel pressure is around both sides of my heel. I also have the top-bottom movement of my toe area like you did. They need to work on the fitment of these skates. For now I’m throwing them on the shelf.

Mount the frames with no soulplate bolts for a session or 2 then the soulplates will be flat and frame will be flush. Then put the soulplate bolts back in
I might try putting some longer frames on them to help while I’m not skating them. I think my problem is the xl plates are longer than most frames so I need something to push down the ends of the plate. I will try to find something in my stash.

It takes some time to get everything dialed in and get used to a new aggressive skate. Just grinding on a new skate takes a while to get used to. I’d definitely like to see some more reviews, and some after a months or a few months or longer. That’s really the test of a skate after 6 months or a year if it still feels perfect
Great review, thx !👍🏻 tbh, as far as all the reviews go, the skate seems to be a disappointment…..use another liner, change the frame, check all the bolts, add an insole, soulplate is curved…..rubber laces, pressure points….so far I‘ll stick to my Powerslide products…

@@justintribett Ashland, Ky but anywhere in wv is fairly close haha. I’ve thought about the xl’s, but the large is so close I’m worried it’ll be too big.
I meet up with the Charleston homies on the regular and plan on going to the Hurricane park soon. If you have some decent street spots I could make a trip your way. On the skate sizing I’m often a in betweener on shells. To me this fit the same as the Aeon 11-12 shell, which is a bit roomy for me as well. The faction10.5/11 shell fits me perfect. It’s right in the middle of most brands. I am tribett13 on instagram if you want to hit me up for a Wv session sometime

Yes luckily I have a few pairs and should be ordering another set of the whites when Clark gets back. I asked Ben about his and I think his just stripped out. Mine actually broke the mount out of the shell. Very weird but I have skated them a lot so I’m not too upset.

Without hardware the shifts weigh in at 300g vs fluid 4 at 246. After skating them for a couple months now I think they feel about the same as creates/fluids.

I was Blading before Tekken, but Tekken and blading were some of my faves through the 90s. I found out about Tekken before console at my skate rink in the 90s. I literally thought on first play it was a generic polygon fighter and didnt think much on first few quarters at the rink. Later on PS launch I fell in love with the characters and story. Then tekken 2??? Whoooo!! Skating roces and Tekken 2. 😂

Had these frames for a few weeks now and theyre a nightmare. I cant get 3 of the axle recievers in the holes no matter how hard I try and theres no combination of wheel and bearing i can find that lets them spin freely in these frames. Have you had these issues?
Wow. I didn’t have any of those issues at all. I did have one axle that tried to spin in place when tightening down. As far as spinning I used the supplied bearing spacers and had no issues when tightening them all the way together. I would double check that the frame spacers are all oriented the same direction and I like to use the sonic brand tool that has the bearing alignment to ensure everything lines up nicely.
@@justintribett mate i spent almost two hours making sure it all lined up and everything was fitting in as it should and its still fucked, I seem to be the only person with this issue. Maybe i got a defective pair?
@@Toebex yea I would guess you got a bad one. Haven’t heard of anyone else having these issues. Curious though did you get the black or white ones? I have been using the black ones but haven’t tried setting the whites ones up yet.

Thanks for the detailed review. If it doesnt bother you, id love to know the measurements for the h-block on the shifts.
So I’m assuming you want the height to the center of the h-block. Both the freestyle and anti h-block are 1.5 inches/38 mm to top center. The flat rocker h-block is 1.7 inches/42.5mm to top center. For a comparison the Kizer fluid 4 is 1.2inches/31mm and creates are 1.3inches/32mm. Hope this helps. If you want a different measurement just let me know. Thank you for checking out my videos 🙏

The beauty of this particular frame is that you get three options in the box to help you with what setup’s appeal to you. Being new typically a larger h-block will be more forgiving while you learn your grinding style and help boost your confidence. But really it comes down to what you are comfortable and confident with. I enjoy skating a flat setup sometimes but I enjoy a freestyle setup the most. Again being new I would recommend what is most enjoyable to you , don’t get discouraged and remember to have fun. I appreciate you checking this out and Thank You for your subscription!! 🙏

Great video man! love the content thus far. I am excited to try these frames. From my experiences using flat, I think it is alwasys best to have 95a in slots 2 and 3. i know for sure the harder wheels have saved me on numerous occasions.

My number one favorite flat frame would be the masterblade frame for sure followed by oysi mediums. I am actually planning on a masterblade video very soon to revisit them. I’m an anti rocker skater at heart but occasionally like a flat setup. For me the masterblades are the best of both worlds. And thank you!
