zhlédnutí 51Před rokem
We set out for a day trip to Cobram to see our favorites camp sites, as we couldnt find any information on the flood levels in the area, the day trip became an overnighter in Barooga, went to the Barooga hotel for a meal, and had a great time as always. First long Haul with our new 4wd, well new to us..

That was a good fair dinkum review, thanks cobbs
Absolutely welcome. True blue as can be.
In wrong lane. Should been in left lane.
Disappointed, I was considering this van..
is that the new model hilux?2.8 or the 3l?
No it's a 2005 4l V6 Petrol.
watched both your vids, good honest reviews, we ve a jayco outback pop at this stage, looking at moving up.wife plus 2 girls,10/12,reckon go alright in this size, thanks again 👍
Thank you. Yes we are very happy with our Scout 😁
Hello. How do you like the Elam leveller? Did you got the v1 or v2? Did you compare against the savvylevel? I'd love something like this, as parking my scout 11 gen 2 on my own required to much jumping in and out of the car to check my spirit level.
I used the elevel V2 a few times now and yes makes it easy now. I back up to a camp spot and get the camper level left to right much easier no more getting in and out over and over. The savvylevel is about two hundred more and to my understanding the electronics are pretty much the same. The only one I purchased is the level. Thanks. Frank
Good point re draws. I have a station wagon I'm thinking of installing draws, but will rethink that now. The ute is petrol...how is fuel economy with and without hybrid?
the fuel is pretty good, all though havent done myself any favors by getting bigger wheels and tyres..LOL get about 12L to 100KM , and with tow about 18L to 100KM , but in the hills towing easily up to 25L to 100KM
@@fsvdownunder that's pretty good!!!
A general comment about hybrids - they make them too tall! Isn't the idea to reduce drag while towing by having the roof come down? The best way to do that is to have it come down so its at or below the height of the standard 4x4 that will be towing it. The six inches or so above the roof line kills a lot of the efficiency gains of having a pop top.
yes they are high, our Hilux has been raised its still high in comparison.
It doesn't sound like there was much wrong with the design or the fitting out. Clearly the TV positioning hasn't be thought through, but at least you can fix it. I imagine they are concerned about having weight up high, but the solution to the is to have the TV on an arm to allow for normal use and for travelling. I agree, they should include the wooden platform in the shower/toilet by default. Sounds like a great camper since all these items you bought up a relatively trivial in the scheme of things.
i agree, i would definitely still buy it , the most annoying thing was the shower leaking. very happy campers..:)
gee there quality control is just not good enough.
Dutch-Aussie? Just ordered a similar Aussie-Chinese Hybrid 16' here in CA, USA
Meaning to ask what did you get.

The latches does not catch oul the pin out lift the latches up flash to the roof top and put the pin back.
Oh well if the battery goes you know who to holla for!
Hi guys love those adventures
Like to see a little car do that...a lifted forester or something. Pity the guy modding his has not released videos in the last year or two (Ignition Offorad) .
Great 👍
Promo'SM
Great 👍
Thank you! Cheers
Frank good old Mc Kewans, they started it all hardware and camping god love em
Great video thanks mate, small items are a let down, when you consider what you are paying for, in 2023 paying 50+K for an 11 foot van you expect better, but hopefu;;y the company will use this video to fix this....
We can only hope they rectify these issues.
Yea nice.
Frank, that was a brilliant, straight shooting review mate. Subbed! I hope you can apply your discerning eye to many more things in the videos to come!
Thank you for your support and comment much appreciated
I've been living in my scout 11 for 14mths now full time... I've had heaps shit happen with my camper. Wiring is crap, hot water service would always flame out, leaking shower cubicle, wheel bearing nut only has 3 threads holding on, door handle broke as with the screen door handle, they used vinyl water tube for a diesel heater fuel line, wheel alignment has no more adjustment, a/c drain is above the front water tank all I have fixed/modified/improved. Oh TV and aerial shit themselves too, shocks, water pump pressure switch failed they replaced those items. My view is great concept just poorly executed
Thanks for your input. I hope that the gen 2 is better than that. I can only imagine if I was living in it there would be more issues. As to what you experience. Did you get in touch with stoney creek regarding some of these issues and how did you find their after sales service. Take care. Frank
Mine is a gen 2, but you do have a different kitchen, outdoor shower, stone guard, electric awning. When parts were available they were pretty quick in sending them. But most of the stuff on the list I had to fix otherwise it would've been over 12mths till I would be able to get stuff looked at
I've also heard people with 100k plus vans having similar issues with quality of vans, so I guess for the money they are OK, if you fix stuff yourself or can think outside the square to make do until fixed
True that. At least we have the knowledge and capabilities to repair and or replace some of these problems.
Also seal the area that the slide out kitchen stow away. The reason is if you have the kitchen out bugs can make their way inside the van as all the compartments under the bed are interconnected.
Nice Frank. Great review. How is it to tow?
Morning. It tows really well. Just hugs the road. I'm really impressed with the engineering that's gone into it. Seems extra heavy duty as well.
Yeah awesome. Have you taken it off road at all? If so how did it go? Looks like a great little unit!
No not yet aiming for the high country next month. Will upload. That video also.
Brilliant. Looking forward to it!
@@fsvdownunder did you end up going on this trip? Also, how's it been in the past 7 months, we're looking to buy one
Woo hoo Grey Nomads look out
Not grey we are blue yemads
Despite the minor problems it looks like a really neat little unit. Sure beats sleeping in a tent as well
Thanks. Yes should serve us well. Quick easy setup. Excited for the next trip.
Hi Frank, do I hear your better half smiling? You guys had amazing time.
yea we have good times,, very lucky :)
Yea thanks we had an amazing time. Frank
Absolutely awesome to watch! Really enjoyed this one it was a good video highlighting all the good moments on the trip! 👏
Glad you enjoyed it! was a fawesome trip
Frank you are living the dream
I know yea. I am lucky 😁
Good on you mate well done although the fast forwarding of the driving made me dizzy ha ha ha what did you run into to break your tail light
Thanks buddy yea reversed into a tree. But all good now. Basically some scratches left . Luckily found a new tail light 🤣 with globes only a few hundred in damage. No venture no gain no loss either I guess.
The Victorian High Country is beautiful isn’t it Nice highlight reel this video was 👍 I’m keen for the next for the next one
Electrifying! Such a good looking rc!
All that water made need to pee lol Good work on the cuts to the music A 3 axis gimble would be good to use for shots like this to make them buttery smooth, or some practice with panning by hand can do the trick too...
Nice one
Brutal...but she is recovered! lol Nice video...thumbs up! : )
Thanks 👍
Nice. Like it
Thank you! Cheers!
Thats my type of 4 x4 driving lol. Like the back ground music
