Your humanity is a blessing and we appreciate your courage in opening up your heart to us. Every person is on a journey through this world and we appreciate you sharing your journey with us! Please do not stop doing this! I know its hard. Even if its just one video a week. Its good for you and good for us too!

I had a reproduction of that short sword with REALLY good steel (at least it took and held a good edge) complete with sheath and frog for several years. I caught a lot of ribbing from my unit for carrying it on my LBE or strapped to my ruck, but it was USEFUL in the field. Just wearing it was enough on several occasions to intimidate the bad guys enough to forestall problems. (Yeah, I was That Guy.) I finally had to stop carrying it and it got retired to an off duty camping blade. Mine was riveted, had a plain brass hilt and had the "round" vs "feather" handle and the fullers on the blade. No doubt a poor reproduction but I loved it. A good, solid blade with a good, solid hilt. Now I wish I'd never sold it.

The opposition to buying or selling confederate pieces is absolutely appropriate. In the eyes of my brothers and sisters with darker skin these people are their would-be enslavers. This country is their house too. And if they don't want the confederacy to be celebrated or memorialized, even by buying and selling memorabilia, they have every right to make the point. Yes, it is history. But, think about it. When you consider racial discrimination practices in the north and jim crow in the south, my brothers and sisters with darker skin have only had their full rights for just over 50 years. We Caucasians have had our rights for 250 years. The wounds of the past discrimination and slavery will not be fully healed even in my lifetime and I'm 43. Thats just a fact. If that means confederate memorabilia doesn't sell then so be it.

Mention the history of why all of the cannons at Shiloh are spiked. The Superintendent's home is involved...Good story, especially if one knew the miscreants.

I don't have any Forrest artifacts, but something I value more. My great-great grandfather rode with General Forrest in Russell's 20th Cavalry under Tyree Bell ....his name Lewis Coleman Roberts....My other great-great grandfather fought with William Barksdale's 17th Miss. Regt. Mortally wounded on the 17th of Sept. at Antietam ,dying on the 18th .....his name James N. Wallace. The Confederacy is still here ,I live right in the middle of it! James W. fought in 7 battles before he was killed.

Hello Shiloh my name is Myles I own a 1864 Providence tool musket, and I’d love to get it refurbished, but I don’t know where to start it it has everything but the butt stock the cleaning rod and one ring I think but I’d love to get some advice and help on how to get it refurbished and back to the way it was it has a D and E stamp on it as well which I don’t know what that means but I’d love some input.
