We caught up with mortgage broker Vincent Tong, Principal Broker at DLC Clear Trust - Signature Mortgages, to find out: www.rew.ca/guide/articles/how-the-first-interest-rate-drop-in-months-will-impact-the-housing-market Get in touch with Vince ...

Awesome clear explanations. Think a lot of first time homeseekers would love to understand all the different home buyers incentives available to them and the difference between them.
Glad it was helpful!
So good to get some of these cleared up!
😎👌
We love James!
💡👍
Whats the words you've heard that you want us to break down next?
Hi , Can i get in touch by email ? We are thinking to move to Chilliwack from Montreal
absolutely, reach out to Kristina here www.kristinalegault.com :)
Solid breakdown by one of the most trusted broker in the mortgage space, thank you Vince. 👏👏
We love Vince!
Whats your thoughts on todays rate cut?
I don't think the tower will add much noise to that quiet neighborhood, most of the units will probably be speculative investor purchases and sit empty when they aren't AirBnB'd out (if the HOA allow it)
Curious how these new short term rental rules that came into effect may 1st this year will impact these kind of projects
Great to see REW grow over the years
Thanks so much Jason! Here's to some more growth over the next few years 💃 We got some big things planned
What do you think about a life in the Eastern Hillside?
Vancouver’s skyline is about the mountains, not the buildings. Why obscure people’s view with tall buildings that are basically an ego exercise by an architect?
Super interesting take, with such limited space in downtown the buildings have to start getting higher. How can architects and indeed the city ensure we don't loose what we love about living here!
@@RewCaHomes The downtown isn’t built for that many people. I used to live there. The current downtown is basically an island, with only a few ways in and out. What Vancouver needs is more places like the West End outside the downtown core, with more townhomes and 4-6 story buildings, instead of these massive luxury towers that are either priced out of the reach of 99.99% of people, or have insanely small living spaces. The thing is that developers love the big towers because they get more money from them. They’re about enriching the developer, not making better living spaces.
Lived in the Tri-Cities for 23 years. Left 7 years ago. Burke mountain used to be a beautiful forest and now it’s a jam packed sub division that offers virtually nothing. After construction started there the bears had nowhere to go so there is a massive issue in the city now. Also, for those curious, Burke mountain is about 80% East Asian.
👍👍
Super 👌
Thank you
The highest point DT Vancouver is Comox/Bute not Nelson/Thurlow where this site is located.
Maple Ridge has the nicest drug addicts and prostitutes I've ever met.

Vancouver house knocks this out of the park
Condering moving there from Toronto. I heard it is also snowy there. Are home owners required to remove snow within 24 hours after the snow stops? Really tired of shovelling snow.
A great question! So the official guidelines can be found here - www.chilliwack.com/main/page.cfm?id=471 But it's worth noting that Chilliwack on average gets 45-50cm less snow a year than Toronto. Our advice, give Kristina a call and ask her, she lives in the area and can let you know right away what to expect 😁
Wow, how informative and visually appealing. Great work Trish & REW team :)
Such useful information!
Great insights 🙏
We 💛 Trish
What is your thought on the recent announcement?
When I lived there (2002-2012) the train tracks as you enter the downtown was always a huge issue. As far as bridges being built to connect downtown to the rest of the world remains to be seen. I’ll believe it when I see it!
Maple Ridge is SO filled with junkies and crime. If it’s not nailed down….they’ll steal it.
yay another ugly luxury building for the rich in this garbage city
Garbage city? I can tell you haven’t travelled outside North America.
@@AreYouAliveYet Ive lived in multiple 3rd world countries and still had a higher standard of living in some of those places. Vancouver used to be good but it’s trash these days at the price of gold.
The first time I was in Surrey, I saw a high-speed chase 10 minutes later. The car pulled in to my buddies garage and it was his brother. 😂
BC = Bring Cash Maple Ditch is a chit hole
My city
Dreaming…just starting however was ongoing many years and the $$$$ is Insane. Want to be a city wannabe. No industry to attract people/familys. Can’t eat Tourist Spots. Mission is nice to visit as a tourist but still the “arm pit”.where is downtown Mission where the tent people live. Once you buy or …. You will see dark side of Mission. Second thoughts. Wayne M. 🇨🇦
Us to bring our family there years ago loved the slow pace and we couldn't afford it went last summer what a difference found everyone was in a hurry and the cost is set for the rich not for the average person so disappointed in that keep catering too the rich it's the way I felt
I'm not a fan of the continued densification of downtown, already one of the most dense city centers in North America. Now people want to remove the view cones for even taller buildings. It's frustrating when the entire Fraser Valley is a low density, suburban hell. They are demolishing a perfectly good mid-rise for this. The West End is already a great, dense community.
Where do you expect all of this influx of population to go?
your colour grading is quite odd, are you working off a calibrated monitor?
as long as they have fam doctor🇨🇦😊
Time to start saving my pennies

you have no idea how horrible north van has become. I've been here for 60 years I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. IT'S A CONJESTED JOKE. AND CITY COUNCIL LETS THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOWERS WE DO NOT NEED HAPPEN. NOT TO MENTION THE INFLUX OF PEOPLE. TRULY DISGUSTING.
You damm nimbys
Absolutely stunning!
Love it!
So who else is up for a trip to the birthplace of BC?
I moved away from Squamish a few years ago. It's just getting big for me. Not the charming town it once was.
Ah very sorry to hear James! Out of curiosity where did you move to in the end?
Where has there been rising sea levels? I haven’t seen any rising levels in Squamish
