I love this scene so much. Such a confusing, complicated plan that could have gone in so many directions, and then his plans get foiled in the simplest way one wouldn't expect.

Honestly, this is the most memorable Wile E Coyote/Roadrunner bit ever. I’m 49 and I still remember/laugh when the wire breaks.

I always thought this was hilarious when the line broke.

I remember seeing this clip on Dick Cavett when Chuck was the guest. Dick asked Chuck what the coyote planned to do if he actually caught up to the road runner. I think he said something to the effect that the coyote really doesn’t think his plans through.

I have no idea what his plan was.

He tried holding on the rock while balancing on a wire with his head but when he let go of the rock the wire snapped and he fell down making a hole in the ground. The wire fell onto cables and one side of the wire fell into the hole and killed the poor coyote

LMAO, I was showing this cartoon (just by coincidence, I didn't remember this scene myself) to my 10 year old twin nieces because they've never seen Looney Tunes, and they were like "What is he even trying to do?" at this part. I couldn't answer, but I haven't laughed so hard at a cartoon in years
