i guess the definition of inside out vs outside in is changing. for most of the time i have used vr, outside in vs inside out was not whether the solution used base stations, but whether where the sensors are located. the ultimate tracker have the sensors on the device itself. but vive tracker 3.0 have sensors on the tracker, not on base station. the base stations are basically just ir laser emitters, that sensors on the vive tracker 3.0 pick up. so they are technically inside out too. vive ultimate is inside out camera slam tracking, and vive tracker 3.0 is inside out lighthouse marker based.

Don't mess this up with a me too, 2 years too late product. You used to innovate. You need to do that again, not at $4000.

Looking for testers or user-reviews by an educated, VR professional? I've been waiting for this generation (and my first Vive was branded Valve to tell you how long I've been with you guys 😉!) It'll be this or the next Quest, but I'd rather my money go your way!

Crazy how they used the space calibrator app created by pushrax in their app which was created with the sole purpose of making it possible to use ANY headsets with vive trackers and never mention it, telling us that to use 3.0s you need LIGHTHOUSE tracked headsets while in reality it’s not a requirement…

The first company to develop and sell a set of glasses that are the same weight and feel as current reading glasses that can do AR and VR with full field of view is the winner. Plain and simple as that! Let’s go HTC!

A nice little tutorial, but I think it could've been built on more. For example, usually the world isn't just a flat plain, so discussing how to manipulate the ground/elevations etc would've been cool (or modeling inside of unity in general rather than just assets). In addition, discussing probably the most important thing in a world: the lighting. And then maybe collisions/mirrors/scripting etc. Still for a basic world this does the job, thanks!

So much more is possible than anyone is doing. Apple did well technically but the platform is as much a handicap as the price. Pretty happy with my Bigscreen Beyond. Meta's throwing truckloads of money at VR then making bizarre cheapskate compromises. You guys haven't made a good decision for consumers in a long time and I doubt you will now. Be happy for you to prove me wrong?

DO NOT. USE. FRESNEL. LENSES. DON'T DO IT. I've heard leaked specs including a display-port cable for PC use, XR2+ for standalone, and high-res pass-through. But none of that means a thing if you get annihilated by a quest 3 because half the field of view of your headset is blurry, and god-rays are making bright scenes on dark backgrounds a nightmare. Don't ruin this one HTC, i beg of you. i don't want meta being a monopoly. The vive pro 2 and focus 3 are both good headsets foiled by high price tags and poor optical setups. Don't fuck this one up. please.

All I wanted was a higher resolution Vive Pro 1. Not a fan of Bigscreen Beyond's fixed IPD, and I don't know if I can trust Pimax Crystal Super OLED offer.

Ai, I hope this isn't true, but Bradley has heard it will just be an itteration on the Vive focus 3 with only the Snapdragon XR2 Gen1 (The same chip the Quest 2 and the Pico 4 has). If that's true, then it's HTC all over again, putting a new headset on the market which is already DOA due to its outdated specs. What I would presume to be the new headset would be an improved Focus 3 with the same pancakelenses as the XR elite, but with the same (or at least better in color reproduction) displays as the Focus 3 has, and have at least the newer Snapdragon XR2 Gen2 chipset (the same as the Q3, even though a slightly newer version of the SOC is also already available). HTC, please don't be so dumb to put out a new headset with an outdated SOC like the XR2 Gen1, that would really be a big mistake. So with the current rumors that are available, what's coming isn't going to change the game in any way, one would be better off just buying a Quest 3 (except that one doesn't have eyetracking). HTC should just be honest and release the full specs instead of this tease which is already been debunked by a legit source as 'will change the game for good'..

I'd avoid the word "vision" because of apple.

Don't fcuk this up HTC you were the original pioneer for high end hardware! I loved my HTC Vive (probably the best piece of hardware I ever bought in my life until my Quest 2) You have no excuses for launching poor hardware at this point. I'm cautiously optimistic seeing that it's got eye tracking.
