    3 years ago I found a Victa Classic cut at the tip and paid one dollar for it . Bolt was missing holding the throttle and another missing holding the push handle to deck . At home I fitted 2 bolts , checked the oil and spark plug , put fuel in and it started 1st pull . I fitted new blades , changed the oil , cleaned air filter and my dollar mower is still running fine .

      @Whatever-ib6ve Před 2 lety

      Hello The avengers 555, Check your oil level. The oil level is measured when you screw the oil filler cap all the way in. I am not sure on how much it takes but probably only about 400-500 ml. Also the fuel noes not need oil in it. Check the fuel you are using is straight pump gas not mixed with oil. Also, never lean the mower over so that the primer bulb is pointing down, lean it over the opposite side only. If you have everything right, it will burn though the oil and the smoke will go away. Hope that helps.

    Just watched your video after purchasing the Victa 18" Classic Cut mower from bunnings and was a little lost on how to attach the handles. You got me through it so thanks for that. Just thought you should know they had included 2 tools in the box - an Alley key and a multi tool with a Phillips head screw driver and 2 sized wrench on either end, was very handy. Also there was a metal bolt inside the plastic toggle knob to attach the upper handle. No oil or rag though. It was like they listened to you and acted on it so way to go. Was surprised you mowed in slides but hey what red blooded Aussie wouldn't and I have seen in other videos and read in the manual you shouldn't start the mower where you fuel it but hey living on the edge is a great way to live am I right. So thanks for the great video....any tips on Whipper snippers?!?

      My parents just bought this mower and it took Dad a while to work out the handle bar installation as like you said, it has metal nuts and knobs that stop the nuts rotating while the allen key bolts are tightened. I believe these are a newer version which fixes the problem of having just plastic threaded knobs as in this video.

    Whilst supplying oil, rag snd tools are convenient, they do add to the price. Remember your buying the bottom of the range Australian made Victa so for the price you paid is a great deal considering a Chinese built mower will cost you about the same amount and not be anywhere as reliable. If you purchased from a mower shop they do all the assembly for you and include the oil. They’ll also go through correct start procedures and explain how you can maintain it yourself or you can return it to them for service and any warranty claims. You’ll also find they can discount price as well and have access to more premium models. In the end you get what you pay for. Going to a Victa dealer supports small, family owned businesses who provide far better service at still competitive prices.

    Came here for some insight into assembly, your lower knobs went on easy as, we just cannot get them on. Was the metal nut that came with supposed to be in the knob or should the knob basically be the nut with no metal at all? • @Whatever-ib6ve

      The design may have changed from my purchase. Seems they have included a metal nut inside the plastic knobs on the handle. From experience the metal nut may fit inside the plastic knob and then the knob will tighten on the boot through the handle. Can’t be sure as mine may be slightly different.

    long shot but do you remember how much you had to move the window guide? tried forever to get the actuator out (repairing them is easy) but can't get the rear ones out. the guide will only move about 10mm or so and doesn't seem to provide any room to get the bulky part of the lock out through the top or bottom hole.

    • @benjamintownson3531

      I do remember the rear doors being quite a squeeze to get the locking mechanism out. I just removed the single retaining bolt on the window slide , pushed as far away as possible and wiggled the mechanism out. Not sure how Toyota do it but it was possible on my car. It does take some contorting of your arms and careful manipulation of the mechanism. Sorry, no simple trick on that one.
