Screamin Eagle 55mm Intake Manifold Install on a 2023 Harley FLHXS.
zhlédnutí 2,1KPřed 6 měsíci
In this video, I’m replacing my stock Plastic intake manifold with a Screamin Eagle 55mm Intake manifold on a 2023 Street Glide Special. FLHXS Intake Manifold: 27300167 Intake Seal Gaskets: 27300087
Great information. Audio is terrible
Thank you, and yes, I have purchased some wireless microphones.
I'm about to do my seals on my 06RK...you really helped with the throttle body/ breather plate alignment. Gonna get that Yost tool also thanks....just read on Harley forum the insinkerator tool for your garbage disposal is the same.
I tried that garbage disposal tool and it seemed to be a little weak. I would suggest the long ball sockets better and the tool off Amazon. I am glad I was able to help you out. RIDE ON!!!!
Noice! Thank you for your support.
Looks upside-down.
Is there any real difference?
The springs make a difference for sure. And I put 13s on that one for my customer has a little bit more travel..
Looks great! Quick question, I have an '09 103"TC (was originally a 96"), PO upgraded to 103 & had 510g cams installed. 41k miles now, should I be checking the runout periodically? Reason I ask is getting some noises at hot idle. SE compensator upgrade too but she seems just fine. Thanks!
It depends on what the noise is. could be your lifters. You don’t have to check your runout periodically no. That would be a complete pain in the butt to do.
@@DKPHARLEY I agree!! SE compensator looks pristine to my eye, possibly on the clutch side for the noise. Best I can describe as sounds like something perhaps out of balance at very hot idle. Sometimes clunking on hot restarts which is why I suspected the comp.
@@icecreamsikeyuhasz5689 is your chain too tight or too loose? Hit me up on Facebook if you wanna chat about it. Maybe you can send me a video of the sound. I’d be happy to help you if I can.
Makes no sense cause I’m not there to even see what that’s for
Your crankshaft pinion runout on a Harley can be way out of spec. This one is almost perfect. This is a miracle because this is never usually the case.
@@DKPHARLEY thank you now I’ve got some learning to do
@@elijahrussell4143 Thank you for you comments. If you are going to use aftermarket cam plates you need the pinion runout to be .003 or under usually. I have seem cranks with .030 runout. If the crank is that bad, it has to be replaced.
at about the 8 to 9 minute mark, there is a great view of the orange gasket that goes in between throttle body and intake manifold. Do you, or anyone know why there is the upper notch for the gasket to stick through? The SE does not have that.
I went back and looked at the video. I understand what you’re saying.. The screaming eagle one comes with a oring/gasket on it already. My best guess is that that TAB is to show that they installed it for quality control.
Thank you for the video, I’ve searched for the long Allen sockets like you used. Are those the 6” that I see or are yours longer? I installed the SE intake on my bike yesterday, and I had a hell of a time trying to get the correct angel on those exhaust flange bolts that you made look so easy with the long Allen sockets. I also thought they were 6mm. I have the bike back together now, but next time I have the tank off I’ll see if the 1/4” would have been the better choice. Also I’ll make sure I have a set of the long Allen sockets too.
Thank you for the reply. The 6 mm is for the throttle body bolts to take it off. Yes you do use 1\4 Allen long ball sockets. The current ones I used are the icon ones from Harbor freight they were great.
@@DKPHARLEY Ok Thanks. I was just there yesterday. Sorry I did t see your video first.
@@mrnonpc9885 if you have time, I think they have 20% off icon this weekend. So you could pick those up at a cheaper price. Follow me on Facebook if you want to ask any more questions. I’ll be happy to help.
Am I looking at this right??? Is that .030???
yep lol
about to pull the trigger on this bad boy. did you get it from discount ramps or from them directly.
You won’t be disappointed!!! actually I got mine on blackwidowpro.com. I’m loving this thing, especially with the side extensions.
Looks good but can you put a Harley tri glide with the sides on it
As I recall, they said you could. I will double check that and get back to you.
They sell a extra wide lift for the bike for a TRI Glide.
@@DKPHARLEY what I see on there site is side extensions and between them and the table you are up to $2500 and the table will lift 1500 lbs the dealer told me the trike is 1600 lbs but I read 1300 lbs so it don’t leave you much cushion for the extras on your bike
@@richardschaffling9882 Yes and I think they make one that is wider but yest 1500 pounds. If you look in the reviews on discountramps you can see a trike on the lift. I don't have any advice on the weight. have a great day!!
2 jaw puller
Yes Sir. I agree.
Well there's ya problem is a pile of garbage
Use 3 harbor freight lifts in our shop for 15 years on one 7-8 on other 2. My customers never complain. Never a failure and dont see the unstable part…. I guess the black one is overbuilt so makes some more comfortable. But at 299.95 ill stick with the tried and true safe harbor freight. 99% baggers no kid bikes
Awesome, I’m glad you’ve had good luck with them. Thanks for stopping by.
You have adjustable pushrods in the bike? What's your thoughts on them. Was told also if putting a SE255cam, improved oil pump, hydraulic cam tensioner also screaming eagle, to replace the piston connecting rods also. They may be oval from old cams. Piston could connecting rod assembly is $3700cnd., got all bearing to compensate height of the lift on the new cams. Bearing has more rollers also I guess as well. Just had stator/voltage regulator act up also just before it got stopped for repairs. Handle bars rotted out also, broke on way to work. Ordered new ones to work shop. Installed the next night. Needed the extra torque with new cams to get out the way quickly loaded camp gear, trailer behind the bike. Plus tools. Had a few folks follow to close for comfort near stop lights. If they don't break in time . I needed torque to get rig out of harm's way.
I love adjustable push rods. Either S&S or fuel motors are pretty good. I wouldn’t go with screaming Eagle cams if you want real performance. Too bad you’re not here in Texas. I could take care of your bike. Thanks for the comment.
Great detailed installation video!! I want to do the same thing but am curious if We need to re-tune the bike? I have stage 2 with all the goodies! What mods are on your bike? Really like the color of your bike!!
Thank you so much!! Yes I have a S&S 465 cam chest kit installed. I also got a canned tune from FUEL MOTO with my power vision 3. I would suggest to take it to a good DYNO tuner in your area and have them tune it correctly if that is all your planning on doing. I am going to eventually put a 132 kit in this bike and I am waiting for that to DYNO. Make sure you check with your DYNO pro to see what exhaust they prefer you to run for low end power. Thanks for watching!!!
@@DKPHARLEY I have a 17’ Street Glide Special… also with the S&S 465 cam chest kit! I did have it tuned but, at the time didn’t know about changing out the intake! I’ve done so much to my bike and want to change a few things up again! Ugh! Just means more $$$! I’d like to buy a new bike but don’t want any payments! What exhaust you running? I have the V& H power duels with Magnaflow slip ons! I really want a 2 into 1 now but, think… why!! lol
I am running TAB Performance with Louvered baffles for now. I don't think they will do very well with a dyno tune. I am probably going to get a BASSANI 2 into 1 sometime soon. I understand the money part. Harley is the same thing as owning a boat. Bring out another Thousand!!! I also failed to mention I have the Harley Screamin eagle Ventilator with the Arlen Ness bigger insert.@@kevincarnes7598
@@DKPHARLEY hey thanks for the chat! I’m from Michigan and just had shoulder surgery 5 weeks ago and been very bored looking at videos! Can’t wait to get this years riding season started! As long as I heal correctly!! lol!!
I hope everything goes good, hit me up on Facebook if you have anymore questions. DKPCYCLE. I am always happy to help!!@@kevincarnes7598
This may be the most complete video for installing the new aluminum manifold . Great job. Very detailed. Thankyou.
Thank you!! I wish my elbow wasn’t in the way, but it is what it is. lol More videos coming soon.
I love the s&s, but it looks rough and cheap, so I pick the SE.
Good choice. I was really impressed with the quality of the SE manifold for sure. I am going to a V-Twin Powersports 65mm Throttle body w/ billet manifold when I do the big bore. Thank you for watching!!!
Nice video. Did you had to re-tune?
I did not re tune yet. I am waiting until install and finish the 132 kit going on in later videos.
