But Kalista had a choice, at least Sorakka made her aware that she had, but she choose what she does and what does that gave her???? What's Sorakka's fault in that??? She even forewarned Kalista that her future after that quest will only lead to darkness. Sorakka is innocent.

If legendary loot is 1 per server rare, other cool sets of armor that are less rare but still really cool will matter, so it sounds good to me

i think a simple thing you could probably do with the legendary weapons like BORK, is make it so, yes you can get it as loot and anybody can have it in their inventory, but that its unequable unless you complete a refreshing quest. it could just be getting x many kills, or completing x many raids a week, and that once you do it you can equip it for x amount of time. to which then you have to work to keep the buff to be able to equip the blade. that along with only having the ability to wield one of these super mythical items at a time due to the buff. all so that when you see someone using it, you know they are working their asses off to be able to wield it. and that makes it still rare and that you dont see it on everyone a week after a raid releases.

The Blade of the Ruined King could actually work as a limited weapon as if you complete a challenge you get a Bork the old Purple version of the weapon but the greatest player gets the modern Blade of thr Ruined King and you could maybe even be a playable boss that other players hunt down because you are possessed. Idk just my thoughts

Great review! Convinced me to get the book - even though I have mixed feelings on how the ruination has been handled in the past. I'm sufficiently interested in delving this interpretation/version. Also, just something to add about Thresh and the events at the start: the answer is definitely that he was always a prick. The lore for his character in the game makes it clear that he has always had a penchant for cruelty. That his teachers assigned him a "thresher" position to not only put his naturally methodical nature to good use - but to keep him away from the other members of the order. To be fair! They recognize that he was gifted. He has an eye for detail and has always been throughout, etc. But that, combined with the inclination for sadism that his teachers could see even back then actually worked against him. It made him more frightening and less of a candidate for the job he wanted. I have no doubt this was exacerbated by his poverty, and that's unfair, certainly. But it wasn't the main/real reason. If he had been a good person, or at least a normal and not cruel one, I have no doubt he could have risen through the ranks.

What would be cool is that although there would only be one true weapon per server, anyone who gets it would be able to keep the weapon, but only the true current owner of the weapon would have a special effect or title on them on raids, pvp, or hubs that shows off that they actually own the weapon, and people can only loot the weapon again from a raid when that person dies. A good balance would be that that player would have to participate in raids or pvp for a decent amount, else they'd be considered as inactive and automatically lose the weapon.

Roguelike with strong story and development is usually a bad roguelike. Hades has basically clicker gameplay fused with good dialogs Moonlighter's gameplay loop is: go to new dungeon, suffer, sell loot, upgrade gear, not suffer, reach new dungeon. Cult of the lamb's combat and enemies are on extremely basic level. No interesting upgrades, no interesting events. Just kill everyone and proceed. I'm not saying that those games are bad. It's that they are reaaly weak in one of their selling aspects - being a roguelike/lite
