Dang, I have the Nyet, Nyet single from this album. First time I've listened to this album [2024]. Slick and wonderful. Such an 80's sound, very clean. The variety is brilliant. One more album to add to my garage sale digs list.

I discovered this album this year last month with "Array" and was immediately caught. Finally decided to listen to the whole album the other day. Goodness what an album. "Hundreds and Thousands" has to be my favorite from the album so far. Also the title of the album "Lessons in Vengeance" is such a hard title for an album like this.

Somehow never bought this classic album, probably because it came out in 83, my vote for peak 80s classic albums. Carol Pope is the original LGBTQ canadian icon, and guess what youngsters, gen x thought she was amazing, and not a thought was given to her alternative lifestyle, if anything it gave her an exotic cachet that made fans clamour for more, and her lyrics were famous for breaking barriers.

Thanks for sharing this amazing concert and memory of the CITY-TV / CHUM-FM simulcast events. I watched this one live from a viewing party at McMaster U in Hamilton - The Spoons from Burlington were a Mac fave. In a time long forgotten before TV broadcasted in stereo, these broadcasts were events not to be missed.

I can't remember any of his one-liners, but I sure do remember laughing helplessly.

My favorite 80s album as of 2024. Good songs. Yazoo is better than Depeche Mode in my opinion.

Really a shame they never landed an international record deal back then. They would have been very successful. Their music was equal to or better than their contemporaries. Here I am, at 50 years old, still listening to their music, that speaks volumes.

I was in Palm Desert (Palm Springs).... hunting with my Dad. We were staying in a trailer in a Thousand Trails camp ground. My dad came back to the trailer where me and my mom were just hanging out. My dad says; "son... you need to go to the pool.... there's a couple girls there...." and off I went. Those two girls, Stacey Price and Stacey Crews took me into town and the first song they played... was, "don't go". I had never heard of Yaz until that moment. They lived in LA and I lived in San Diego. I ended up dating Stacey Price for awhile making the long distance thing. ... great memories in a time BEFORE internet!!! And, to think... I married a Stacey!! (not either of the two mentioned above, but still coincidence)

I tried to find it for ages (flatmate nicked my vinyl single) and finally tracked down a 12" in Canada. Paid for it...got ripped off and never received it. Guy would periodically message me saying "Do you still want it?" "Yes. that's why I paid you for it. Please deliver it." Back and forth until the window for reporting him closed. Glad to have found it here.

I saw him perform once at the beach in Toronto 35 years ago. He ended his show with "my name's Daniel Cole, rhymes with Rock and Roll". I never forgot this juggler's name.
