If your heart desires a Patek Philippe but your wallet says otherwise then you might want to check out the Raymond Weil Maestro Moonphase. It's a great dress watch (or everyday watch) for the money. Moonphase, date, sapphire crystal, excellent movement and overall craftsmanship make this a possible Patek Philippe alternative. It's the poor man's Patek Philippe. Raymond Weil is an independently owned Swiss made watch company known for it's precision and quality.
There are two dial patterns to this watch a wave dial (2239M-ST-00659) and the waffle dial (2879-STC-00308) This review focuses mainly on the waffle dial. At 1/3 the cost of the wave dial I know of no other difference. Some may even argue the waffle dial is more beautiful and luxurious.

What is the smallest bracelet length you can get if you remove all the links?
I bought this watch from Jomashop recently. Been on vacation so it’s been waiting for me at home. Just gotta figure out how to set the moonphase lol
+@Mac88tilinfinity it easy...pull the crown one direction for the date and the opposite direction for the Moonphase.
thanks for the review; how much time would you recommend spending on winding it every day? and what if i missed a day or two, is that bad or ok? just too pretty to pass because of the non automatic mechanics lol
+@justmaxeth wind every other day 15-10 full turns and you should be fine. I've let mine sit for several months and it starts right up after winding. No issues whatsoever after 3 years.

I have the same watch. I took a piece of hard wood and run it over the sharp edges of the bracelet to make them more comfortable. Mine also has a sharp edge around the bezel. All in all a great watch nonetheless

Pagani Design does a decent job. I've had a few of them with sharp edges on case and bracelet
+@watchsixto I agree that they do a decent Job. The watch head is nice on this and maybe another one would have a smooth bracelet without sharp edges. QC is always gonna be an issue in this price range.

dont know why rolex and patek made bands in size 20mm its too narrow. to me <20mm makes it feminine and >22mm musculine. i like it when bracelet atleast 22 or 24mm.

I love everything about it except for the VK movement. Would love to see brands ditching that movement with its lack of running seconds and the useless 24-hr dial, and instead choose an ETA or Ronda quartz.

@@watchyouknow yes that’s a positive step but the 60-min register is often very tough to read. The Rondas and the ETA quartz chronograph movements do it much better: you can actually read how many elapsed minutes have passed.
ETA/Sellita movement would put the watch in another price bracket. Nothing wrong with the VK64 mecaquartz movement.
@@zosothezephead837 I don’t agree, but there’s plenty of room for all opinions in this hobby. I wasn’t recommending a pricey mechanical chrono movement, Ronda and ETA make quartz movements that are easier to read than a VK. The have a Butler J80 chrono that uses a Ronda quartz and a CW Valour chrono that uses an ETA quartz: the usefulness and legibility of the chrono are far superior to the VK. And these watches were in the $500-700 range so not too crazy.
