Knitting tutorial | Cast on with 2 strands | WAK
To cast on stitches with 2 strands at once, take the 2 strands as if they were one. Leave a long enough strand in your left hand to cast on the necessary stitches and make a slip knot on one of your WAK wooden needles. This will be your first stitch. Place the strands coming from the balls over the index finger of your right hand and the strand for the cast on in your left hand. Stretch the index finger of your right hand and turn it down so the strands cross and form a loop, then insert it into the needle. With your left hand, wrap the needle from bottom to top and from left to right, and let the loop from your right hand fall onto the needle. Adjust the stitch by pulling slightly on both sides. Repeat from * to * as many times as you need to cast on the stitches onto your needle. Once all the stitches are cast on, you can start knitting.

Why do you call it knitters? Knitting is used with two needles whereas crocheting is with one with a hook at the end. There's a difference.
This worked best for my blanket yarn I’m using out of all the joining knots I could find, I put the smallest dab of super glue in between the knot and so far hasn’t broke or came undone yet
Confusing and the music didn't help.
Love the music😂
'ados os petits trucs qui aide beaucoup, surtout très bien expliqué.
This one helped to lead you in right direction, Thank you!!!
Oh WOW! Pick up bar between and twist❤
Thank you
Needs contrasting colours and voice explanation. Poor video.
Thanks
Thank you, for showing it very clear 😊
I just watched this for music!!! A refreshing change from the usual video music (noise). What bliss to knit to Beethoven :)
Six years on this video is still saving projects! I have no idea how I managed to mess up 12 stitches in the middle of the row but now I know how to fix it. I found the blog post first and thank you for explaining hook positioning and the encouragement to "fearlessly drop the stitches".
Thanks helps a lot
As a blind person, this video was of absolutely no use to me.
¿Por qué habéis elegido dos colores tan parecidos? No se distingue bien. Lo suyo es elegir dos colores que contrasten.
Knit yo stitch
I just finished all my pieces of a sweater but need more instructions on how to piece them together
This method is a little fiddle, but i have used it repeatedly with fingering weight yarn, and it works beautifully.
The knit will show, I’m so confused
That is NOT knitting into the same stitch twice, that’s kfb, k
Can you tell me how after crocheting the ring to put it on double pointed needles to continue knitting 😊
I was struggling with this method until I saw this video. So grateful! Thank you.
Thank you times a million!!!! I was about to pull out my hair with the crap instructions sent with my loom 😂😂 100/10 best tutorial to follow🎉
Bekar
I finally got it.
Mine keeps opening and doesn’t hold together, what do i do? 😢
This video was EXTREMELY helpful!!
Isn’t that white float a bit long?
Best ever - so much smaller than magic knot 😊
Not sure why my knot comes undone. Seems secure, Made sure I crossed strands correctly, tested the knot. Made sure I didn't cut too close, tested the knot. Knit a couple rows and knot comes undone. Seems like a great idea. Maybe it's user error, but not working out well for me.
waay more difficult than it needs to be.
Excellent!!!
Stopped watching the moment crochet pieces were shown.
👌👏
For the second type of increase, you say to pick up the strand between stitches, but you actually picked up the stitch below. That's completely different.
There's a fascinating video you might enjoy - it's on CZcams, so easy to access - "Shetland knitters really did knit 200 stitches a minute!" Thecwoman who put it together has actual film footage from the very early 1900s showing just how fast women in some cultures could knit, and she does an excellent analysis of knitting techniques used back when it was a major part of the economy in the Shetland Islands.
Non si può avere una spiegazione più chiara in italiano magare scritta grazie
Wow i can barely read your comments...wtf. Anyway thank you for this video❤
O gosh what are you doing 😢
Would be way more helpful if you described what you're doing and why.
It never worked for me... i read on others comment yarn might be a bit slippery & you can make 1 small knot next to the original knot to prevent the slippery. This is like other's commented that it's not a fail safe. I haven't tried the Russian method, might be I'll soon❤🎉
Beautiful music but absolutely NOT HELPFUL. An explanation of what stitches are being sewn together at the beginning and zooming out to show the whole piece of the project so the viewercan get their bearings on what is actually being done would be more helpful.
Great BIG. Help. Manny thanks. Male 76 👍
I have no clue what you're doing. This wasn't at all helpful.
What's the point of the extra yarn on the left side?
This is so helpful! Thank you!
Hi thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! You by far made this the best n easiest way to join! Cant wait to see what else you have !! Happy holidays!
Thank you!!!! ❤❤❤
Looks like a reef knot
