@@lynncannon7484 so IF that was true the Bible would say repentance is nessary for salvation in every place scripture mentions it because it would be very important for a person to understand. But is doesn't!! The most evangelistic book of the Bible, John does not speak of repeating to have salvation. I find that to be a huge problem for you!!!

Our Pastor has literally banned dating in our church CEYC. It's friendship, to expressing interest which she has to tell her dad, If he agrees and she gives you that feedback, you let Pastor know. From that point, supervised courtship can start with both sets of parents being aware and the church being aware. No private visiting, no frolicking. Let's be honest, if that beautiful girl I plan to tell I'd want to marry her starts visiting me alone in the house so soon, we'd end up having sex... multiple times. It's the truth.

Yep my first major disagreement with my parents was over my wife. It cost me my inheritance. It wasn’t a lot but 3 acres of land . I had purchased a doublewide trailer from them an was told I had to move it. Cost me twenty five thousand dollars to move and buy other land put in water and septic system . It took years before I talked with them. Still not close even after 34 years. Funny how now they say they love my wife. But they actually said they would not allow it. I basically told them to stuff it. Nobody tells me what I I should or should do .

if your parents say they won't allow it, it is best to not do it. The word is patience until they agree. It's funny how you admit that the first time you ever had a disagreement with the people who cared for you and made solid decisions for you all your life are the wrong ones when it comes to settling down. My Pastor says once they say no. slow down. if that woman is right for you, start praying seriously. There is no marriage if any parent (especially the fathers) say no

@@joel9909parents don’t get everything right. Sometimes they mess up. Sometimes they don’t want what’s best for their kids. Sometimes parents are terrible people. Parents are human and make mistakes. A lot of parents give great advice. If my parents disapproved of a relationship of mine, then I would do some deep introspection and praying. In the end, we do the best we can, but we are all human and we all make mistakes. There are many times where the kids make mistakes on who they date or marry, but it would be against the Bible to believe that a parent cannot mess up, and that they always make the best decisions for their kids

I had to learn about a case study where they compared the mentality in America of kicking your kids out at 18 and how different cultures value a family being together and stronger. It’s amazing because the families that didnt kick their kids out, also took care of their elderly and didn’t put them in nursing homes. Your kids will treat you like you treat them.

  • @MrSpiritchild

In the history of man, offspring leaving the home before marriage is a relatively new thing. This worked for humanity for thousands and thousands of years, the larger the family, the better the life of the family. The culture has changed though, though it's not a matter of confidence. With the invention of consumerism, both parents in the home usually work, leaving the child raised by television, schools, peers, or left to raise themselves. With a worker parent and a stay at home parent, a family creates for the children, purpose, responsibility, accountability, maturity, interrelationship skills, and habits that are conducive to self respect, giving them the necessary skills to take a spouse, move out and create families of their own.

I disagree , a lot of families live together because their 18 year old children cannot afford $2000 rent or get approved for a mortgage, I do agree that kids should move out, I moved out at 18 been gone ever since, but I only stayed gone bc I was fortunate enough to have parents or support when I needed it. Like I may have paid my own rent but my dad fixed my plumbing, gas heater, dryer, fixed my car, essentially things I could not do myself or have the money to hire out for, my parents did. I was born in 91. I managed a furniture company, parents in 2023 barely know what a Phillips head is … how can they teach their kids to be confident when they aren’t even confident, my age group or generation, most of them have no basic fundamental knowledge or experience with basic tools, finance, cooking, mechanics, basically no common sense, these parents in my age group don’t know how to actually survive, like hunt , read a map, navigate, find clean water, grow food, hell they don’t even know their god given rights so they’re not teaching their kids, we’ve either been raised by the government or raised by our parents since the 80s …. That’s the real problem …..I do think some just spoil their kids til they’re 26 but there’s a big majority of folks that have adult children that cannot financially live on their own
