Hi again GoG! And today, I wanted to talk about Sakuya, since I didn't have a chance, when you were playing Touhou 6 and 8. So, Sakuya Izayoi is a maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She's a loyal servant of master of the mansion Remilia Scarlet and her younger sister Flandre Scarlet, though, you already know it, don't you? So let's skip all this stuff you already know and get to something more interesting. Before the end of Touhou 6 Sakuya was cold towards other humans and beings. You could call her cold, calculating. she was easily capable of killing someone without a second thought, but after events of the game, she started to melt a bit and associate herself more with the humans. Still she is very loyal maybe even too loyal, since she is ready to die for Remilia just to protect her(even considering the fact, that Remilia is stronger.) She's almost died in Touhou 6 that way in Touhou 7.5 was beaten, because she wasn't listening to orders to stay and wanted ro go along with Remilia, and in Touhou 8 she did go with Remilia against her will, and all of that just out of loyalty. why she's that loyal to her? Actually no one knows. It's a mystery both to us and to other residents of Gensokyo, since there's no reason for a human to be with a devil, let alone be so loyal to them, while being so distant from humans. But there are some theories. Not even fan theories, but theories of the canon character from the books Hieda no Akyuu. They aren't facts just theories. Akyuu can make mistakes(she even thinks that Eirin and Kaguya are just humans), but here's her theory: In the past Sakuya was a vampire hunter. It would explain her silver knifes, her character and other things. But eventually she was defeated by Remilia, which let her ljve, and serve her instead of dying. Of course it still doesn't explain everything, especially such a high loyalty and coldness towards humans, but.. it's jist a theory! An in-universe theory! And now.. let's talk about her abilities.. And they're very vast.. more vast than you think. So.. you think she can stop time? You're right. It's the ability she uses the most. But besides stopping time she can: slowdown, speed up time, reverse time(to some extent), erase items from timeline, summon copies from different moments of time and different timelines. Sounds crazy right? You'll see how she's able to slowdown time in the future games, she sped up times in one of the endings of Touhou 6, where she made a bamboo bloom(it blooms once in a hundred years) in several minutes. So.. you probably thinking, that with the power to reverse time she is unstoppable. But.. no. By reversing time she's not reversing time itself, but the objects and their movements. For example. If she would ever break a vase, she can't reverse time to fix it. If she would try to do it, she would have a whole vase... made out of pieces of broken vase. All of them would be in the right places, where they should be, but it wouldn't be a whole vase, but vase out of perfectly arranged pieces. So.. what about erasing items from timelines? We don't know much about this ability xbut we know some technicalities. She can't erase an item, but she can erase it from present and future. And.. from our perspective it becomes non-existant. She did it with enemy bullets in one of the future games, but.. that was the only time where she used it to any extent. So.. what about summoning from another moments of time? Let's just say.. You'll see it in the future. And if you're interested in summoning from another timelines.. she has one attack when she summons another Sakuya which alshes the enemy and disappears. Not much here too.. but yeah.. Though here's and interesting fact. You remember Sakuya stopping timw and shooting a lot of knifes at you after she resumes it? She throws every single one of them by her hand, every time. She's not doing it with power of some spell, she just flying around throwing knifes and different angles and then resumes time, you just can't see it. Remember her attack with stopping time in this game(7.5)? She's throwing every single knife by herself even here. Well, that's all for today! Take care!

Hmm.. So now it's Marisa's turn. I told you about her earlier, but it was.. Let's talk about her time in pc-98 and before, and now we're going to talk about her present self. Slightly before the incident of Touhou 6, Rinnosuke ( mentioned him in a previous comment about Marisa) made for her a special tool called Mini-Hakkero, which is a magical multipurpose nuclear furnace that radiates heat and light, which is exactly her specialty in magic. Thanks to it, she can do a lot of powerful spells, especially her iconic Master Spark and its variations. So you remember a little wooden box in her hand, which people call Master Spark? Well, Master Spark is just a spell, and the box, that makes it possible is called Mini-Hakkero. After leaving Mima and Makai, she's having pretty hardworking life filled with magic research, experiments, and theories in her quest to get stronger. Many people confuse her thiefly tendencies as kleptomania, but actually she's just a thief with collectomania. She doesn't ever steal something she doesn't actually need, and she also doesn't steal from her friends, but she never lets a chance escape, when there is an opportunity to get a magical artifact or grimoire, that can help in her research or just seems interesting to her. Despite her getting stronger and stronger, actually she's actually at her peak of human capabilities, at least since Touhou 8. And it worries Alice since, if she becomes too strong for a human, exceeding the amount of strength a human body can take, she can turn into a youkai. Though fans have theories about Marisa already being a youkai, and some strange things like her red eyes in Touhou 18.5 don't do any good in disproving this theory. What's the main argument for those theories? Well.. it has to do with Touhou 9, so we'll talk about it later. What else can I say about her? Actually, in her magic research, she analyzes the spells of others and tries to think about how she can use them, how interested she is, and how hard it will it be to replicate them. You can even read about it in her own book, The Grimoire of Marisa. And to end all this.. Let's say a word about the Reimu/Marisa dynamic. You see Reimu and Marisa in a way as complete opposites to each other when it comes to magic. And I don't even talk about their magical aspects. You see, they are peaks of human capabilities, but in their own rights. While Reimu is accurate and solid, Marisa is all about destructive power and flashiness. But that's not all. You see, Reimu is all about having pure talent and abilities, which carry her without her even trying, while Marisa is all about hard work and research in her quest to be strong. Pure talent without effort vs pure effort and hard work without talent. It's pretty obvious when you think about it, but it's pretty easy to miss. Well, that's all. Take care.

Hi GoG! Sorry for doing it this late but.. Better late than never, I suppose. Today I discovered, that for some completely mysterious and unknown reason I haven't told you even a single thing about Reimu's lore, so.. We're doing it here. Well, of course you already know who she is, you've been playing as her for years already, but here is some more info. While we know that Reimu is a shrine maiden of Hakurei shrine no one knows who her God is. Well.. Some characters seem to know identity of Hakurei God, but for us it's still an enigma even after all these years. But her God is most likely powerful and wrathful if we'll believe Byakuren on that one. Her ability is to fly.. Not literally though, name of this ability is some kind of joke/slash idiom in Japanese. In English the best way to describe this ability will be "to go with the flow". While she doesn't really think about it and just do what she wants to do, everything around her just miraculously happens to be just like it should be to help her pull it off. In some sense you can call it a type of luck. For example she can just walk across the river by stepping on the fish jumping out of the water. But here's a catch she can't do it consciously. Sure she can do it, if she will miss the fact that there's a river or what she's doing but if she'll start to think about it or try to reach such an effect she will immediately fail. That's her natural ability. But also she has some abilities which come to her as Hakurei Shrine Maiden and the main one is control over barriers. Not boundaries like Yukari, but barriers. She can create her own, but she can also control barriers like Hakurei barrier or Barrier between life and death(in Netherworld). With help of those she can warp space and move.. Strangely. You could see it in Touhou 8, where she was flying from one side of the screen to another and then teleport Ed to the other part of the screen similar to how she did it in Touhou 11 with Yukari's shottype. It's one of the instances where she uses her borders, with her natural ability. She doesn't even know what she's using and according to her words she just moves completely normally. It is not know if it's a separate ability, part of another or just a natural skill, but she can go in some kind of trance when she's at her weakest. In this trance she can do really insane things, probably due to her natural ability, since in trance she always in her unconscious state. Her attacks are quick and powerful, but the in all of those attacks there is one which above all else called Fantasy Nature. In this attack she enters 8-dimensional space, from where she can easily attack her opponents with multiple attacks, while she is completely transparent to any attacks. If you have some trouble understanding, why they can't hurt her let me explain it on 2d and 3d. We are living in 3 dimensional space. But let's imagine there's a 2d creature on paper. No matter how hard it tries it can't hurt us. And even if there were no paper and just a creature it wouldn't be able to turn to us anyway, and considering it's infinite thinness it wouldn't be able to hit us, unless we would go right in front or behind of them. While we can easily stab this creature from it's side. And this is only 1 dimension difference, while there is 5 dimension difference. So yeah.. Too op. But don't forget she can't use it at will, since it's in her trance mode. Also she can exterminate, make/destroy seals, exorcise but it's common shrine maidens skills(though extermination is unique to Reimu in Gensokyo) So.. You might want to know about her past, but.. Here's a thing we don't know anything, besides the fact, that she's orphan since pretty young age (she's under 10 in Touhou 6, and Touhou 1-5 happen 1-2 years prior) Probably was at least partially raised by Yukari, since Reimu knows her for a long time and Hakurei Barrier was made by Yukari after all. All other stuff about her you can see in games! That all and take care!

Okay, hi everyone, and most likely GoG, so let's talk about characters here, since our beloved Gamer is so good, that he managed to beat everything, while I was still sleeping We'll start with Yuki. She's a black witch, who can use fire magic. She is with Mai patrolling(or maybe even living in a world of Ice and Snow inside Makai. Funnily enough, her name means snow, despite her fire magic. Though inside she is very fiery indeed. She cherishes her friends and thinks very highly of them. That's why she was furious, when you beat up Mai first, since for her it's personal, that you hurt her dear friend. Mai is a white witch, who can use ice magic. Unlike Yuki, she doesn't care about her friend and thinks of Yuki as a deadweight, and even thanks us for beating her, claiming, that she'll be better without her. And that's... I don't know how to describe her without bad words, so I'll not do that here. However, that's probably one of the most disgusting character-wise things in Touhou, especially considering how much Yuki cherishes and values her. ZUN even got out of his way to compare her to Judas in her theme(Judas kiss). So yeah... Mai isn't a good person at all.. unlike Yuki, which is ironic, since she's a white witch, while Yuki's a black witch. Yumeko is Shinki's maid and her best creation. She does absolutely everything Shinki says to her, without any questions. She also has a pretty protective and caring nature towards Shinki and wants her to be out of any problems and conflicts. She is also very strong and can easily throw swords at her enemies. Considering her character and nature she's compared by Zun with a doll. A precious, best doll for Shinki, who even while having her free will, willingly does everything she asks her. Shinki is a goddess and creator of Makai, along with its residents. She lives in Pandemonium with Yumeko. In Touhou 5 all she did was allow for her creations to go on vacations to Gensokyo. That's why she was planning to ambush Reimu, since in her eyes, she did nothing wrong, while Reimu just started beating up her children(well.. creations) and wreaking havoc on her land. But besides that, she's a caring and understanding goddess, who is trying to make everything better for her people. The battle with her actually was so fierce, that the whole city of Makai was burning as you can see in the background of her final attack. Some fans think that Reimu destroyed the whole Makai and left it in ruins, but as we see in Reimu's ending it's far from the truth, so probably there was a large fire as a consequence and that's all. Ah, and finally Alice Margatroid. As you said, you wanted a whole retrospective for her, so... here it is! Let's start with Alice from Touhou 5 and then later go to her Touhou 7 appearance. I would like to go even further, but there are a lot of spin-offs between PCB and SA, where she has her role, so.. we'll go only until PCB. In MS she was still a little human girl, despite this, she was in Makai and already was known as a witch of death. We don't know anything about her past, but it was probably very dark, considering her title, knowledge, and fact, that Makai is the world of demons. Being a child, she was very impulsive and thought of everyone as enemies, which can also point to her dark past. After Reimu beats her in MS, little Alice starts to think about revenge for what she did to her, and later she meets Reimu in her own world, or most probably her own part of Makai with a Grimoire named Grimoire of Alice. Now you can ask, how she got to obtain her own part of the demon world and magic grimoire on top of that. Well.. there is no definite answer, but the only logical one is that she was on good terms with Shinki. As I said earlier, despite being a demon god, Shinki is quite nice, if you don't hurt her people and in theory she could sympathize with little Alice, especially considering her dark past. So she most probably gave her a piece of her world, where she created minions or toys for her, who looked like different types of cards. Why do we know, it wasn't Alice, who created them? It's because creating a lifeform, that can act on her own is still her main goal even today, and it's not something she accomplished yet, Shinki as we already know can create all sorts of demons, from Yuugen Magan in HRtP to Yumeko in MS. If we go by this theory, her grimoire is also a gift from Shinki. It's not too far off to imagine little Alice going to Shinki to tell about Reimu who beat her up, and wanting to get revenge, and the sight of defeated Shinki and destroyed town could fuel that desire even more. Then Shinki could give her a magic grimoire, which she made for Alice. It would explain, why it's called Grimoire of Alice and why it has so much power, way exceeding her level, which means she couldn't be the one to write it. But still, even with this Grimoire, she was beaten by Reimu. After that, we see her already and PCB and she changed quite drastically from her former self. Firstly we see her as a youkai, not a human, and there is no sign of our impulsive little girl in her. Now she's calm and collected, never fighting even near her full power without a Grimoire, which was completely locked up with chains. Now she prioritises tactic over strength and will gladly lose to anyone, rather than use her full strength. Also now she's not a witch of death, but a 7-colored puppeteer, which is interesting considering, that in Touhou 5 different kinds of attacks were correlated with different colors. To be more exact with red, blue, purple, and yellow. Why did she become like that? Well... there is also no definite answer, but there are some theories, which could logically and psychologically explain such a behavior change. You see, in MS she was fighting at her full strength twice and still lost, leaving nothing in her to resist. It could seed in her a fear of losing for real. If she fights for real then she could lose to someone for real and then again be at the mercy of the winner. But by not fighting at full strength it's not a loss, but a a strategic retreat, where she gets to learn her opponent, while not giving any crucial information to her opponent about herself and her strength. She goes as far as always fighting at a level only a bit stronger than her opponent if she can do it, while not revealing her real powers. So yeah... basically she was traumatised even more during MS. Also, even if I said, that she's not a witch of death anymore, it doesn't mean she stopped using her powers related to death, I will say even more in the Windows era, we might actually know, why she was called a witch of death all that time ago. Alice knows how to use voodoo and other techniques related to killing and hurting others from far away, without even touching them. Also, voodoo may be the reason she's so good at making dolls right now. Why do we know all that? Well... once Aya caught Alice making a voodoo-like ritual, where she was nailing a doll to a tree while chanting a spell. It's still not known, who Alice wanted to harm or kill with it, but the ritual didn't work, since there were witnesses, but it doesn't mean, that she couldn't do it later and it definitely shows, that today's Alice isn't all nice and kind how we want her to be. And even if she's one of the most kind characters in Touhou, we can say, that deep inside there is some darkness inside her. Well, that's all take care!

1:32:52 so theres a glitch that happens here where randomly at the start of shinki's fight youll just die, however only a couple of years ago people have discovered that actually isnt random. earlier in that same run, during the stage 4 boss (yuki and mai), you may recall that when you defeated mai, they were in the middle of shooting those weird looking cheeto lasers. as you defeated mai, those lasers were still on screen, however they "despawned" once the second phase of the fight began. I say despawned in quotation marks, because for some reason, those lasers stay there with their hitbox deactivated for the remainder of the run, UNTIL the beginning of shinki's fight, in which their hitbox activates again, which caused you to get hit, as you happened to be where they were once they despawned. Its a very strange glitch, youll never have to worry about it unless you end the first phase of the stage 4 boss while theyre shooting those lasers. if that does happen, as long as you're not in the same spot of the screen as those lasers were when starting shinki's fight, they wont hit you. sorry for the long convoluted explanation lmao, hopefully you get it

Found some more info basically that brain thing is called the brain of mensis and you need to go down the hole it went to and there will be a body when you go down there that has the blood rock and you can kill the brain of mensis for the tier 3 moon rune
