    Hello Aamer great to see you’ve tuned the ST, those are good figures and have transformed the car. I met H-sport at Oulton Park a few weeks ago. They’re a good bunch of lads who really know their stuff. My mate Lewis Higham (GM Tyres & A/care) brought his ST180 engined Courier along. Other tuners there included Devine Autotech, Piranha Racing, Rival M/sport and TRS Performance too. It was a great day with everyone getting on well and helping each other out if needed. You’ll have to try and come along to the next one mate! I really like Eibachs. I’ve had them on other cars and my ST for four years now without any issues. Bilsteins along with Eibachs would be a really good combo. Look forward to your next vid and any future mods mate. 👍🏻

      Yes, I think it was a great figure. I was just expecting somewhere between 225 - 230bhp, but I think the ITG intake, exhaust and intercooler do make a difference to max out what can be achieved from the map. It's a couple of weeks on and the car still feels great!

    Cracking video bro 👊🏽 thinking of taking our ST TRS Stage 1 or 2 was the power noticeable from stock once you drove it ??

    • @aamersandoo
      @aamersandoo Před měsícem

      Thanks man. Yes, it was VERY noticeable. The first time the boost came on around 3000 RPM I was taken aback by the difference. It pulled hard and you go back in your seat harder for longer. Also, the rev limit is raised from 6.4k to 7k and so you get more revs in each gear (and a hard RPM limiter). Day to day, I have found it to be smoother than the stock map in all driving conditions. The engine feels supple and flexible rather than being contained on a leash! 1st and 2nd gear don't seem to be so harsh with engine braking either. It is money well spent to be honest and I would recommend it.

    Hi, Im planning on doing a service on my 2015 st180 this weekend (first time servicing a car) and jsut wonder about the drain bolt. Does this bolt need a crush washer with it or does the bolt have one built in? ive been trying to read up about it but seem to get different answers. Cheers

    • @aamersandoo
      @aamersandoo Před 3 měsíci

      Hi there, my ST drain plug did not have a separate crush washer which means it must be built in. Having looked at images of new drain bolts on the internet for this car, they don't seem to have one either, so I don't think you will need one. However, if yours does have a crush washer, then you can just buy a new crush washer and fit that. Remember that when you tighten it with a new crush washer, you feel some resistance at the applied torque, but then the washer will 'crush' giving you a further turn of the nut and then it's tight!

    • @aamersandoo
      @aamersandoo Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for the kind words! No, I can honestly say that there was no increase in vibrations in everyday driving or at idle. If there were any slight increases, they are imperceptible to me! It might vary from car to car, a higher mileage car with worn components/dashboard may be more susceptible to vibrating, but the benefits outweigh any slight increase in vibrations even in that situation.

    The way a bigger intercooler works is not by cooling the boost down , but rather allowing a higher density of air to flow because of it's bigger volume. When compressing the same mass of air in a smaller cooler , due to volume reasons , the acceleration of air diminishes vs that of the air flowing through a larger cooler. That's where heat soak comes in from the stock cooler because heat is restrictive energy to the flow of air.

      Hi Mikey, no issues at all. In fact the ITG was fitted first and I felt it improved the responsiveness of the engine a little. The exhaust went on next and also made a slight improvement to the response throughout the rev range. The I/C made no difference, but did no harm either. I have had these mods on for around 5k miles now without a remap and they do not negatively affect performance or MPG.

    That oil dipstick doesn’t look correct. I’m on my third fiesta st and haven’t had a dipstick that looks like that 👍🏻

      You had me worried at first, but having checked there were two dipstick designs. Mine is the original design found in earlier cars but later cars had the revised version. This thread has a bit more detail: www.fiestastforum.com/threads/dipstick-design-issues.26475/

    Hi Aamer enjoying the vids. I’ve had my ST180 for 7 yrs, got the eibach lowering springs, Ford isolators, m/t exhaust, airtec i/c and itg. Also collins short shifter, torque mount and had their stage 1 map 3 years ago. It’s now got the Collins uprated actuator and gone CP2e for 240 bhp. Highly recommend them as they know their stuff, the maps are smooth maybe too “safe” for some but I’ll sacrifice aggression for longevity and reliability! Lewis Higham at GM Tyres and Autocare near Bolton is a really knowledgeable and trustworthy guy too. He knows the ST180 engine inside out. He’s fitted one in his now track day Transit Courier ex works van. Also installs Laird Performance software so might be worth a look? Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next vid.👍🏻

      Hi Mark, thanks so much for this information. It looks like I am following the same approach as you have done with your ST180. I agree about the Collins CP2E map - it was actually number one on my list and I added all of my hardware based on the suggestions appearing on their website for the CP2E. However, they never replied to an email I sent asking some questions related to the map and some others mentioned of poor customer service. That's when I decided to consider other tuners. I was not aware of Lewis Higham's garage but it definitely looks like a place I would be happy to take my ST so I will contact them for potential future work. Thanks for this suggestion! I hope to own my ST for as long as you have, they are great cars and it's hard to think of what could replace them!

      @@aamersandoo It’s a shame they didn’t reply and I’m not going to just defend them but I’ve never had any issues myself. There are CP agents all over the country (like BD in Wrexham) so maybe have a look if that’s your first choice. I’ve heard good reports about Laird remaps and met Ross (the boss!) at a track day at Oulton Park and he’s very helpful and knowledgeable. 👍🏻

    H-sport did the cam belt on my ST180 too, Wouldn’t trust anyone else with my car, I’m already mapped but if I needed another I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Top guys with immense knowledge and experience 👍🏻

    I wish i lived in the UK, modifying a fiesta is way easier and cheaper there 😂 u have plans to go stage 3 and fit a lsd in btw?

      Thank for the comment. I do plan on getting an LSD in the near future, but will likely keep the power at stage 2 (i.e. between 230 - 240bhp). I am not one for chasing big numbers!

      Thanks for the comment. Quaife or Gripper seems like good choices, but I am yet to do proper research on this. I plan on learning more and will then definitely do a detailed video to explain the one I opt for.
