The box of ammunition I get says .45LC right on the box. Long Colt. Long Colt it is. Say it. LONG COLT. We`ll make you like it. LONG COLT.
They did actually make a 45 short colt, it was quickly discontinued. Also your technically right, because the short colt came about in the 1900's.
good job like a boss
I want that belt lol
Pretty ...
So what was the distinctive cough for after saying corrupt deputies
I had two. A modern cap and ball and an original. The original couldn't be fired (Read: I didnt dare). The modern gun - an exact copy - did TERRIBLE damage and was rather accurate, man body accurate every time at 75 yards. No real recoil but by god did it spew smoke.
THANK YOU, i for one also cring at people who say .45 long Colt, so thank you very much
Still could use a race gun conversion!
With that revolver being single action and shim placed where you put it ; won’t it fall off every time you remove the cylinder?
Bonjour de France .du marais poitevin .la Venise verte . Écluses de bazoins .😊😀😆
Can somebody tell me where he got that belt from
The 45ACP conversion cylinder will work with all the ACP variations of the round with the exception of the "plus" loads. I like them.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I have thought that it would be really cool, if someone made a double action swing out cylinder framed black powder revolver that allows rapid swap out of cylinders. I feel that such cylinders using either standard percussion caps, or better yet 209 shotgun primers would make an interesting blsck powder 2 gun rig
How many rounds of acurate fire per minute can you get using swap out cylinders??
Clint's Remington is a GATED, RIMFIRE conversion of a cap and ball revolver. .46 rimfire (short & long) to be exact. All the handguns i saw seem to be 1860s conversions, so i guess its set in the late 1860s or before the advent of the colt 45s in 1873.
The conversions for the Colt or Remington, did not come out until 1865 or 1866. Not sure exactly.
I think pale rider is dated to around 1870 plus or minus 2 years, at least i think so...@@longrider42
I just noticed the cylinder in the movie gun frame does not have a cap/ring over the cartridges. In a closeup where Preacher just pulls the cylinder rod, you can barely see the rim of one cartridge and there is no ring over the cylinder. Further, the lower hammer face is ground to a point to directly fire the primers. This suggests a "regular " .45 cylinder made to fit the frame rather than a conversion cylinder with a ring and firing pins over each chamber. Was there historically such a modification or conversion?
How do you keep your Remington from binding up?
Plenty of commenters not very familiar with roa on this video.ive got the plain old blue 7.5 in good shape.its better than the other 20something cb revolvers i have.if you can find and afford one,do it.
Does it fire modern 45 long colt smokeless cigarettes??
kenvitatoe CZcams E bike ❤ ❤❤
Nothing like 1200$ in cylinders😅
Are you selling these rigs?
how much would it cost to get a pale ryder holster and rig belt like this one bro ???
Hey-what was the ballistics on this as in the speed and muzzle velocity?
Love it!
Very nice video Sir. I found it very informative.
Absolutely love this! I fell in love with this piece about 10 years ago, I saw a picture of it somewhere and it was love at first sight. Ended up trying to figure out what the heck it was for several months before an 1875 model happened to show up while watching Top Shot, and I knew I had gotten close. Dug a bit more and found out the picture I saw was the 1858, and have been crazy about it since. Definitely on my bucket list to get one and a few cartridges to go with
Y'all California boys still have that rig for sale
Thank you very precious gun ❣️🌏from Japan Clint Fun Club🌎
G somebody must have forgot that there was a 45 Schofield out at the same time. And it was a shorter cartridge that you could fire in a 45 Colt chamber. Not surprisingly, most of the loads that the Army used were 45 Schofield ammo in 45 Colt guns. But the reason that the word long was added to the Colt cartridge, was because it was longer than the Schofield. If you want to be an absolute purest, the 1858 Remington is a Double Action Gun. Because you have to not only cock the hammer you didn't have to pull the trigger, which is two movements you have to make to make the gun go bang. With the trigger cocking mechanism you only had to do one action, which was to pull the trigger.
It says 45LC right on the weapon when you are saying there is no such thing as long colt. I mean, if even the gun manufacturers are now using the terminology I think we can be a bit understanding.
Unholster the dam thing
Total bullshit that they age restricted this video.
I think people overexaggerate the recoil of super big bores
Was this actually chronografed at 2780fps because if it was thats impressive, thats 50 bmg energy level
Next time do a video without coughing in the mic.......
Nevermind. 😅i got it. Lol. Had to have patience for the end of the video 😂
What is your contact information for converting?
Love it!🔥
Dang son, even the Pale Preacher is impressed 🎩
Ooo that’s awesome, you should consider selling those online if you don’t already.
Just got my 416 M99 and looking to change that bipod. Do make an SWISS ARC mount instead of picatinny? I may go with an Atlas bipod.
I disagree with your statement about Long Colt. The name was usedto distinguish between the S&W .45 Schofield and the .45 Colt. The Army had adopted some Schofields before the Colt, and the cartridge was shorter than the Colt round. Having 2 different pistol cartridges was a poor idea, and the Army adopted the shorter S&W round as it fit both weapons. So, civilians, realizing the difference, would actually ask for the "long Colt" so they would have the slightly more powerful round intended for their weapon
Problem is, if you look at clips on YT the cylinders that Clint is swapping out are of a bored through design like a 1873 Colt. You can clearly see the case heads in the cylinder, so thanks to "movie magic" he wasn't using a two piece cylinder as a normal conversion cylinder is.
Period accurate conversions were essentially just the kirst conversion but with the backplate affixed into the frame with a screw rather than attached to the cylinder like the kirst model. Meaning that actually might be historical accuracy rather than movie magic.
Impressive
Thank you for the LONG Colt comment! There is no SHORT Colt....why would there be a LONG Colt?
