My wife and I are in our 70’s and discover more every year that we don’t like people near us. I don’t mean we’re antisocial, we just like living on our 85 acre homesite with no neighbors noise, no unsightly trailers, congested cars, boats etc. I do see some value in the Villages. The homes are mostly small with tiny cramped yards which would make them inexpensive to maintain, I guess. We have friends who live there and it’s nice to visit but we love it when we leave. It just depends on your lifestyle.

Florida relied on retires entirely to much then went to war against education, Disney, cruise lines and so on the chickens have come to roost imo. Its a downward trend from now one Im kind of hoping it crashes because I will retire in 5 years but I do not think it will crash enough for me. Perhaps if Florida stats erosion mitigation (they wont) improves there education (they wont) Helps their farmers (they wont) Stop building now (they wont)

My buddy just sold his very very nice home in lake land florida listed 1.3 mil sold 995K he took a 300k haircut was it worth 1.3 ye it was.

EZ Go looks like a base model, standard seats. I am still a fossil fuel man. My wife’s 2021 quiet tech is quiet compared to my 2015, both have the hard sides which is always our first choice. I am just plain comfortable with gas, I know I will have fuel to go anywhere in TV.

Great video. The Star seemed to give a quieter ride and handled better than the Liberty. I've rented both in the past and I preferred the Star. I would like to try the Evolution next time I'm down in Florida. Really can't beat the price. Thanks Gary for taking the time to make this video.

Suggestion......before you buy a Lithium battery powered golf cart you need to contact your home owners Insurance company ask them if they have a problem with you having that thing parked in your garage. Lithium battery fires are no joke, if I were you I would stick with gas.

Moving to Marshbend in a month and will need to buy a cart. Seems like Yamaha is the default and anything else has to beat it. While I would rather have an electric it seems like they will make great advancements which will leave current ones with depleted resale. I would like to charge on my 240v charger, but no one has that or 100 mile range. I think I will go for a slightly used Yamaha and keep my eyes on EVs. I seem to recall the EVs are much better at the hill climbs out of the tunnels.

Hi Gary, Thanks for another informative video, was glad to see this one finally came out. I agree 100% about traveling in the golf cart with older aged people as opposed to younger ones. The 4 seater facing forward makes all the difference in the world (to me) when traveling with family or guests that no longer get the thrill or enjoyment in riding backwards. There certainly seems to be plenty of competition from outside the bubble dealerships giving TV golf cart stores a run for their money. There is something to be said for the convenience of buying from TV but money is money and if you can save thousands of dollars and get something you are happy with outside the bubble it seems to mske sense. Ultimately everyone makes a decision that works for them. Doing research is the key. Thanks for your hard work.

When the video started, I expected you would finish by purchasing a golf cart. So that ending was a surprise. Used and refurbished & used carts can look great, but are concerning with possibly thousands of hours & miles of hidden wear on them. I've heard of used carts, often with just a few hundred hours or miles on them, significantly discounted from new prices. They are basically in almost new condition, used periodically by a snowbird, and just a couple years old. Did the golf carts you show have odometers & hour use meters? I wonder if there is a sweet spot for used golf carts, in terms of hours used, miles driven, & price, (like many used automobiles - 2 or 3 years old, with low miles, coming off a lease, traded in, or used as dealer demos can be like new). Thanks for doing all these video.

Good video. We had the same thought pattern as you and bought the Evolution D5 with the 160AH battery. $12600 out the door. Based on our usage it has a range of around 50 miles but who exactly is going to drive that far? That is a long way. I can tell you that we will take it with just the 2 of us over my 2 seat quietech Yamaha with top of the line seats. It is quieter and smoother. The Yamaha is just a loud smelly mess after driving the D5. The D5 has awesome headlights too which is great. The sound bar is a plus. My kids love it. Even with long trips we seldom get below 70% charge. My guests all love the D5 back seats, they are comfortable and even have USB ports and cup holders. It is not too long to park head in to parking spots. We love it.

We haven't even been down to that area. Although during our lifestyle visit we went as far as Mickey Lee Pitch and Putt. We looked at homes in Lake Denham, but we bought up in district 2. I think if we go down to Eastport or further south in the future, we'll probably need to take the car.

Great video Gary..I enjoyed this segment a lot. We looked to buy a lot last year, had 3 days for a deposit for the lot, and only weeks before we had to design the house and leave a larger deposit. We were told we would close in 3 after the design and deposit. In the week we took to decide the lot was sold. Ultimately we are glad we didn’t take that lot after seeing that there was a major road right behind the wall. Things move fast there, so we agree with you, do your research early and be prepared. I’m looking forward to a relaxing cart ride one of these days.

The latest for lots and building. They call you with available lots when they are released. You have 3 hours to agree and wire your 10K deposit for the lot. Within 30 days you need to get to TV and design your home. (4 day process). 30 days after the design process you will need to put down 20% of the entire cost of lot and build minus the 10K. We were told on that day you will get a closing date. That’s from memory but I think it’s pretty close. Thanks for your vids.

Realy though? The reflectors in the road on the yellow line are a noise concern for you😅? It's a safety device for visual reference and in the event someone's wandering out of there lane, sooooo If your hearing the annoying thumping of tire meets reflector, it's a testament to how many of your peers can't keep a lane.

We did our own lifestyle, rented one week in the summer south of Sumter, then one week in early fall north of 466. Found our home that fit us north of 466 (our first preowned home in 45 years of marriage). Started with one rebuilt cart , three months later purchased a new cart off the showroom floor, his and hers both gas and hard sides. Purchased both in The Villages.

If you want a fence and private back yard….Need a villa….Other homes do not allow fencing
