That was my old stomping grounds, Boston, around the Northeastern U campus. My meal plan was there, in their cafeteria(s). I always used to love how close we were (I had never given it much thought) to the Northeast Corridor tracks coming out of South Station. I remember one afternoon walking to one of the cafeterias walking over an enclosed bridge that was part of one of the university buildings that went over the tracks and witnessing a Regional go WHOOSHING right by southbound. Quite fast indeed. Right through the Ruggles station.

A few of these trains are moving at a good rate of speed that’s probably in the 75mph to 80mph range. That’s a respectable speed for a commuter line with frequent stops.
