Doctor, I've had such poor experiences with ignorant, dismissive, and ineffective specialists in other disciplines, that my anxiety is extremely high that any polyps or issues may be overlooked in testing. I need to begin regular colonoscopy testing. Is there any advice for patients in identifying a quality specialist?

I'm having this procedure soon.....days....in the future...if you could translate medical terms for laymans terms....that would be most helpful...
