However I think the main mistakes were Not playing the match at a bigger capacity ground such as old trafford Giving the bigger fan base the smaller capacity end Not delaying the kick off when 5000 fans were delayed getting in by kick off Fans arriving too late Police or stewards not directing fans to the empty pens Only allowing two ambulances onto the pitch Not having open gates on the side of the pens to filter fans away from the crowded pens
