Thanks. Saved them a ton of money and time. The house was just finished. To take it out would have taken cutting up the tub to get it out, messing up the drywall and possibly some flooring. Then the new one would not have been able to be a 1 piece fiberglass tub shower. They would have either had to do a tub and 3 wall panels or tile surround… or they could give our chip kit a shot and take an hour or so to fix it.

We don’t recommend trying to spray a whole tub with these sprayers.

It’s pretty easy. You just fog it on and dry it between coats. It takes 4 or 5 coats to get a good finish. If you try to spray it and cover it all at once it will drip. We explain this in the instructional video.

Yes it will. You want to more careful in using the acetone as plastic breaks down a bit when acetone gets on it. If working on a plastic tub keep all of your work and color matching right near the damage so it is covered when you finish.

You need to sand down the texture where you will be applying repair material. You can try to replicate a texture in the finish putty but getting a good looking texture match can be difficult.

Yes it works on most materials. Do you know what it’s made of?

It calls for a 1:50 ratio. We compare it to a baseball and a marble or a golf ball and a rolled up piece of gum. There is a little flexibility in the ratio. 1:50 is the minimum.

You have enough in the tube of hardener to activate both the Glass Putty and the Finish Putty.

Hello, yes it is water proof. It is designed for resurfacing bathtubs. It should last indefinitely. If in a high traffic area 5 or more years should be expected.

The tub is fixed and sealed when we are done. Not sure what you mean by ants. This was on a slab and the slab had been boxed out too big for the drain so we were filling in the void in the slab. Basically putting gravel on gravel to fill the void.

Sounds about right. We offer a lot higher grit sand paper in our kits. I wouldn’t finish sand with 400 alone. Our kits offer 600 - 3000.

@@tubrepairco my parents house. There’s a lot of damage on the roof which is where I believe a lot of rats have gone in. The tub has a small hole which is what brought me to this video. Bricks around the chimney are broken falling apart and some small areas with mold spots etc etc.

Does it run all the way to the drain? You may want take the drain out and make the repair under. If you don’t want to take the drain out you could seal around the drain with our product it just won’t look as good. Yes we match the color on the surface of the tub and used acetone to clean it off. This is ok on all surfaces except plastic tubs. On plastic tubs you want to match the color near the repair so it will be coated when finished. Plastic tubs don’t clean up as easy and it can affect the finish of a plastic tub. Standard fiberglass showers have a gel coat that is not affected by the products and cleans up well.

@@tubrepaircothat may work for acrylic tubs and showers, but with gel coat surfaces I prefer to keep as I have been taught to do such repairs and have the same type of repairs with clients never having repair or color match issues. Plus never have to go that extensive on a repair to make it disappear or noticable in any fashion just saying!!!!

Haha it is firm, waterproof, the color matches, and it looks good :). Not sure what a proper repair is in your book but we will continue treating our customers great!
