I'm a typical ectomorph. What foods would you recommend to someone who wants to gain muscle mass but eats healthy and doesn't affect their cognition? Everything is just so unhealthy. Thanks for the very honest story. Your comment about experiencing the Liturgy reminded me of the story about the men sent from Old Russia to find a new religion for the empire. They said the following about their experience in Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. "Then we went to Greece, and the Greeks (including the Emperor himself) led us to the edifices where they worship their God, and we knew not whether we were in heaven or on earth. For on earth there is no such splendor or such beauty, and we are at a loss how to describe it. We only know that God dwells there among men, and their service is fairer than the ceremonies of other nations. For we cannot forget that beauty."

Lebanon is a very Orthodox Christian nation. I attend an Orthodox church in Oklahoma City that was started by Lebanese immigrants. They are under the Antiocian Patriarchy. Usually their services are in English. God bless you all on your journey.

Everytime we would part. He would say something like, " GOD IS GONNA SHOW U.", AND " I THINK GOD HAS A MESSAGE FOR YOU.." THEN LEAVE.....NOT 24HRS LATER......EVERY SINGLE TIME......... i was shown and the message was delivered.... these were not positive, good things that happened to me.....but it was 💯 obvious to me after the tree fell on our car while driving down the interstate during a horrible storm.....and was blessed enought to come out unharmed, my brother unharmed, and the car did not have 1 scratch on it.....and guys, this was a tree TRUNK that broke off off a 100ft tree that lined the interstate..we saw it happening as it was coming down...had no time to swerve ....do u know the circumstances that had t p have lined up for that to happen? Thats only 1 example....thank u Jesus ❤

Currently in the middle of my spiritual journey..now..with all that, my friend would preach about GOD and how he is a vessel to help bring people closer to GOD... we were dating, and it felt like it was being pushed down my throat....but.........

As an Armenian, I would've punched you. Fyi, most people don't hate turks, the hate is for their government which denies and until this day wants to destroy the 1st Christian nation. The posters aren't everywhere, I live in Yerevan and haven't seen such posters. Moreover, the government doesn't put them up. They're trying to build relations with the turks. Absolutely brilliant episode!! I commented on the previous religious podcast, but your comments on Orthodoxy are right on the money again. It's amazing how convincing Orthodoxy becomes when you look at the modern saints - St. Paisios, St. Sophrony, Fr. Seraphim Rose, etc and compare them to the Desert Fathers. They exhibit the same mindset of the early Fathers of the Church and it's one of my favorite things about Orthodoxy!

Obviously (this goes without saying) not all Jews and not all Christians…but as a Christian myself, I do agree that there exists way too much pride and hypocrisy in the church. Nothing is stronger than salvation, but it does require sacrifice and a humble heart!

Idk why, I've heard a lot of podcasts from converts into Orthodoxy but this one is particularly notable. It's just a couple normal folks talking, a dude who is a friend of Josh but not like some spiritual or philosophical guru. Very grounded. I love it.

Jack, I pray your faith is strengthened. What Josh has encountered is ancient and full of depth, purpose, and meaning. I exhort you, brother- Don’t let your first encounter with the Orthodox Church determine how you feel toward it. It is quite uncomfortable the first couple times. But soon, you begin to relax and your eyes open to the beauty of the Divine Liturgy. Speak with the priests, and go to lunch with a deacon. It just might change your whole life. May God bless you both.
