Don't turn what you love doing into a burden....

I'm living on my second boat an Ericson 41. My first boat was a Albin Vega 27. I'm looking now for a certain 30 footer. I not going say which one it is so as not to have a billion people looking for them too, you know, price wise. They rarely go on the market. My 41 is nice, but I haven't taken her out on a sailing date yet. I just leave her all tied up at the dock. Sad. Prices double for everything when you reach 40 feet versus 30 feet. And at 50ft they double again. If you would to live at the dock or on the hook and not go anywhere, go BIG. If you would to go cruising, as Lin & Larry said; Thirty feet is enough.

I once owned a Glander Cay 23. It had standing headroom. . .. in one spot. And it was good for weekends in the Marina. Then I had to move from Baltimore to Milwaukee, and I thought that I needed to take the boat there, too. It was a 60 day trip on that 23 ft boat by way of the Erie Canal. After that, I did not thnk so much of small boat living. Thirty feet would have been much better.

you can't get moorage in Canada. I just chatted with my old moorage location near vancouver and they say its a 3-5 year wait. There is a severe problem with access and I bet sailing will near die out in Canada.

Aside from the occasional divorce, it seems people get out of CZcams more than they get out of sailing. I am overhauling a steel sailboat right now and can’t imagine why I would spend time filming, editing while doing a Reno. But I guess the lure of gold drives some.

About 95% of these "sailing channels" are not sailors. Just wann-be dreamers. Once it gets tough or it dont work out like they planned, they throw in the towel. Living on a boat is not easy or cheap.

People on couches see a small boat. People who own small boats see the entire world!

Project Atticus and Tula Endless Summer should be moved up. Both are genuine and not as choregraphed as many others. Zatara I find boring and Sailing Doodles is just soft porn. Sailing Ruby Rose belongs with the O'Kelly's as they don't have it to be world cruisers. Delos and Vagabonde are the 'most popular' because they have huge numbers. I am starting to watch more monohull vlogs now. They seem to be a little more in touch with reality. Some of the catamaran crews just seem like trust funders to me.

If you're going by numbers of subscribers, then maybe La Vagabond will be on top, but they were not the first. Delos were the trend setters. The ones who started it all. They were the ones who before all the others, had created on CZcams the video style that we now see today repeated by dozens of other newer channels. Riley was about 7 years behind Brian and Brady. These guys and their many, many crew members, should be noted as the OG of modern day CZcams sailing channels and have top spot for that reason. Of course, there are other sailors who have filmed their sailing journeys around the world for the past 40+ years but never made the decision to go public on CZcams, which is a crying shame.

cal 2-27 for almost 30 years. We travel the inside passage between Seattle and Glacier Bay each summer, winter at a marina in puget sound. A great galley, lotsa counter space, refrigerator, and good storage, fold-down table that will feed four, huge for the two of us, two settees that give each of us our space, head and stateroom kinda combined, so no shower, but roomy, bed that one can sit down on, easy entry,egress without kicking the partner , expensive 8 inch thick mattress, cause almost one third of our life is spent there. Boat handles easy, not great to windward, but sneakily fast downwind. Diesel, 5knots under power, six knots or a bit better with good wind. Equivalent to a circumnavigation in miles traveled. Been a good time. At the moment weathering winter in the teens,F., comfy and warm in our insulated home.

Wind hippy sailing, one of my favs, if only posting every 2 weeks, always worth a look.

Sometimes we have a shower. The heads have a piece of cloth for privacy. The stove is not gimballed ? Fridge is just a store. Instead of spending money on tattoos and piercings my money would be going on personal hygiene, comfort and a hot meal.

Most the sailing channels are only living aboard for the trip...extended vacations..its like calling people on a summer RV trip vehicle lifers. Many of the channels have an actual home because most come from more money than 90%+ of their viewers and pateons. Note I said most...not all. Life though is very different trying to make a living in the same marina year round.

La vagabonde , funny, excellent filming, family orientated, two little brothers with mum and dad , real deal sailing life, ❤ ethical standards of planet Earth and our oceans 👍👌🙏. Sailing into freedom when plukky had his catamaran, unfortunately hit a reef in crocodile infested waters in Australia, lucky to survive. I'd imagine sailing vlogs are very competitive but by far la vagabonde is the best watch by far because the channel sends a message of how precious the planet really is .

La vagabonde is excellent, lay back Aussie family, awsome episodes, two little brothers on a boat with mum and dad , just think when the boys grow up, treasured memories. Sailing into freedom is lay back and entertaining 😂, plukky is a funny guy, full of knowledge and keen to share. Zingaro is not bad ,a little egotistical, sailing noodles would be on the bottom of my list , all about one guy sleeze, control freak 😮

Why not rig up a shower out on the deck if you don’t have room below?

I really enjoyed Sailing GBU, real down to earth poverty couple who did everything on a shoestring and had a blast. They recently sold their boat and decided to buy some overgrown land on an island, they are still uploading and looks like they are doing well so im glad.

Sailing Luckyfish just up and gone. No explanation. Boat was/is for sale in Florida last I heard. Plucky from Sailing into Freedom had a young Scandinavian woman(Louisa Jespersen) on as crew(Episode 90) years ago. After she left the sailboat adventure, she was backpacking with a friend (Maren Ueland) through Morocco. Anyway, her and her friend had set up camp outside of the town Imlil for the evening. Muslim extremists found out they were there, and killed them both on the night of December 12, 2018 I think it was. Their bodies were not found until five days later I believe.

Delos is no longer a sailing vlog, it's turned into baby on board videos!!! Pimp my bride videos are only interesting for a bit!!! The all time best sailing vlog was "Sea Change", they only did a few episodes but what quality and content:)

A truly wonderful channel! Here I am at 67 going on 35 years, little resources and have been trying in my own mind to fully realise `the dream`. By pulling these channels and their beautiful people with real world thoughts and objectives together you have created a Eureka moment for me. Wow I can see a pattern here and it’s people splitting up . Very worrying as I’m hoping to have my big adventure with the love of my life we’ve been together 13 years and this was our dream now she’s not so sure , I’m selling my house that I’ve lived in around 25 years to buy my dream boat and finally be debt free so we can go. But Iv heard people say cruising tends to break couples up What do you think ? It’s heartbreaking to think of those that have had there dreams broken 😢😢😢
