don’t follow this dumbass video, he makes it soo much more difficult, and there is in fact A THIRD BOLT. broke my fucking thermostat housing just cause i trusted a youtube video 🤦‍♂️ gotta take off the bracket holding the alternator and compressor to get to it, no easier way. Dont be like me, and this idiot. just look for the 3rd bolt

I removed the 2 bolts and the housing wouldn’t come off. I am suspecting if I pry it off I’ll need a new housing unit. Although for my 2008 v6 2.7L avenger the only housing unit that “fits” has 3 10mm bolts and I am unsure if this will be the correct part. I am unable to find any housing units fitting my vehicle with 2 bolts

Behind that rubber plug on the rotor is an adjustment screw to back off the emergency brake shoes so that you don't have to bang off the assembly, possibly ruining the brake material on the Emergency brake shoes.

did you have to take the ac lines off or just hang it to access the alternator?

Man, every other video online was telling me to lift the engine to get to the tensioner. I'm so glad I watched this video for that reason, and... because it seems my tensioner is stripped so I might need to replace it in the future, so you taught me how to do that as well!
