It’s 2:22 AM on June 25, 2024. I find myself crying, listening to music, and reading comments. I managed to identify with some of them. Currently, I am 22 years old and feel like I’ve lost a few years of my life and that I am falling behind. I’m currently unemployed, only attending a college that I don't really like. I let myself go and have been in it for 2 years. There are only 2 more years left to graduate, and even though it’s a software engineering program, there’s a lot I don’t know. I ended up "coasting" through college. I enrolled due to the influence of others because I never found something I liked enough to make a profession out of it. Now I see myself on a boat that has already left the port; there's no way to go back. If I jump now, I’ll drown. Still, I don't consider this a big problem. I can make an effort to learn and find something I like since the IT field is quite vast. My main issue has been mental. I let myself be driven by hatred, not a silly hatred for mundane things. I have a good reason for it. I live in a city where nepotism and favoritism reign. People sell themselves, their beliefs, and their principles for power, influence, public positions. It’s a city dominated by corruption. My college is no different. Students flatter professors in search of rewards. I’ve even rejected good job offers for not voting for certain politicians. I have family members who accepted these offers and are well-off today, while I fell behind. It's not as if I regret it. I did the right thing, I don't regret it; my conscience is clear. What scares me the most is that, whenever I tell this, people's first impression is to think that I am wrong. By the way, this politician and his party were the most corrupt in the country. This politician was even arrested and released. Thousands of people died in hospital beds due to embezzlement. They impoverish people's minds, feed them crumbs, and still come out as heroes. I know I need to focus on myself, improve myself before trying to change my surroundings. Even so, it seems that I live more in my mind than in reality. A certain attitude is missing, perhaps discipline. It’s not as if I don't want to suffer or anything like that. I know the value of suffering, I know the value of effort. Even so, I feel like something is missing, the initial push. At this exact moment, the only thing I can think of is Christ. Every day, when I step outside in this sick city, I always try to be my best and appreciate the best in people. Seeing or doing acts of kindness makes my day happy. I always try to greet random people or loosen up. I’m sure many here walk around with frowns, without looking to the side, without appreciating their surroundings, without living in the present moment. One of my motivations to do good things is to believe that we live in hell, to believe that we are in hell. Not to expect pity from God or anything like that, but to show that there is light in the darkness, to know that I am and can be different. To show that I am not just another one among so many bad and evil people. That’s it. I hope I can come back here after a while and tell if something has changed. I hope everyone can improve as people and overcome these difficulties. I know many are alone. I even propose the idea of creating a server or something like that, just to talk. For a long time, I thought I could bear this burden, but no one is made of iron. That’s why I am seeking God. I hope everyone here can improve their lives and enjoy every second with their loved ones. P.S.: Sorry for my English mistakes.

I have spent so much of my life constantly looking forward to what’s next. As a result I don’t quite appreciate things as much as I should’ve. Looking back it’s almost ironic, I would give anything to go back when at the time I would’ve done anything to skip forward. If I could just spend one day living back at home with my entire family all together before we all grew up, before my dad passed, man that would be something. If I could just spend one more day with all my friends from Alaska before I moved and let them know right then and there how I much appreciated all of them in person. That would be something. But it’s wisdom now. Now I know that I’m living in the good old days and in the future. I’m going to wish I was back where I’m at today. Even tho everything is such a mess at the moment.

I now have a busy and happy life but I remember the loneliness of my childhood and teenage years. I know it's only waiting to hug me back in its arms some day. I hope in a future as far away as possible. In the meantime, there is something soothing in remembering that past loneliness because its claws are not clenched in my sould anymore. This music sends me back to the feeling of wonderment that I could find when I fully embraced my loneliness back then. When I was lost but amazed by what lied beyond my inner silence, when all the voices finally shut down and that was it. I was at peace.
