    I love this tool! Best rivet tool ever. If I am going to be a bit critical, the instructions could be a bit more detailed and slower. I had to play with the tool quite a bit before the instructions made sense. It also looks slightly different from the TR-21 that I have. But as far as rivet nuts there is nothing better than this.

    • @nickneal552
      @nickneal552 Před rokem

      Cost is about $250 USD Ken. Probably no need to purchase for such occasional use but it's a good method to install and can set M12 stainless steel. Great value from that perspective.

    • @King-Kazma
      @King-Kazma Před 3 měsíci

      If you are installing anything that relies on a M8-M12 bolt, you want a proper tool. Apart from safety issues, ‘a stripped bolt can turn a 30 min job into a 3 day nightmare’ applies here too. Try drilling out a damaged rivnut that hasn’t set and is spinning freely. This is an industrial grade tool. You can get much cheaper clones if you are an occasional home user, and they are fine. You don’t need a ratchet tool for general use, as you can get lever handle models that tend to be cheaper still. A ratchet is good in cars or anywhere with constrained space though. Lastly, this kit is pricy, but it comes with a M5 mandrel. All the cheaper ratchet kits are M6 or M8 up. M5 stainless is my most used, so the legit tool was good value for money for me vs buying a cheap M3-M5 and a M6-M12.

    • @nickneal552
      @nickneal552 Před rokem

      You can certainly set rivet nuts with DIY or low cost hand tools Bofa. This tool is more likely to be used on production lines etc. It just depends on what your requirements are. A bolt, nut and washers pulls up the rivet nut by spinning. This is not kind on the thread and will cause major issues on Aluminium and Stainless rivet nuts.

    Can I ask a question. How does this tool take care the rivet nut is pulled perfectly perpendicular into the sheet metal? I do have a manual setting tool and most of the time it's not perpendicular. While I'm very careful I do have the tool perpendicular when I apply the force to pull, it still fails often.

    • @rivetlab
      @rivetlab Před rokem

      Thanks for your question. There could be a couple of reasons for your rivet nuts being pulled up on an angle: a. Sometimes it can be harder to keep a hand tool at a 90º angle. b. Check the hole size drilled for the rivet nut and grip range is correct. c. If the rivet nut is a low-quality product you can expect installation issues. d. Power tools do a better job of pulling the rivet nut flat and into place.

    • @SE45CX
      @SE45CX Před rokem
