I’ve had 6 bikes in five years. I like to switch things up and try something new. I currently ride a Yamaha XT660X -06 and a BMW S1000R -19 😎👍🏼

@@FLXIGN Ok, that makes sense. How long did you own the 890R for? Did you run into any issues? I only have 200 miles on mine so far.

@@PhysiqueSteve I had mine for 9 months. I didn’t have any problems with it, I think it felt like a bit too small of a bike for me, it felt a bit unstable when I got high speed. But that’s the only negative thing about the bike for me. Otherwise I loved it on tight curvy roads and on track 👍🏼😎

@@FLXIGN funny thing is you’re 6 foot so it feels small, I’m 5’6 so the seat height is a bit of an issue for me, but since it’s so light in weight, it’s easy to manage.

I own this bike since few weeks and it's a great bike, but Yamaha is normally also pretty good. Were you the first owner?

The exhaust is from EBay and cost around 200 usd, the Decat is from AliExpress and cost around 30usd. If I would bought new stuff, I would’ve gone to Wings or Dominator Exhaust. Better quality in my opinion than what I ran on my bike.

@@sasse1021 har du köpt rätt infästen för din hoj så är de superenkelt att montera. Men mer allt som behövs kostar de nästan 2k. Möjligt att jag hade valt andra såhär i efterhand. Men jag är ändå sjukt nöjd. Använd Loctite när du fäster de olika skruvarna bara 👍🏼

I would highly recommend that you remap, when you put a Decat on. 👍🏼

No, it's definitely not too loud. There's like three different kinds of inserts to the IXIL slip-on, so you could vary how much you want it to sound. But together with a decat pipe, I had all three in all time. Tried removing the big baffle once with the decat, and holy f*cking h*ll 😂

On the other hand, I would actually just go for a decat pipe, together with the stock silencer. And get a nice map installed - not the Akrapovic which I had. Something that suits the bike and that setup better. Plus it sounded much nicer with that kind of setup, which I ran the last month before selling it.

@@FLXIGN will it still shoot flames with the baffle inside the cat??

I currently have a replica Austin racing slip on, I want to decat and I don’t mind if it’s loud but im trying to avoid REALLY Loud, I just don’t know if the baffle in the decat will make that difference for 200$ more

@@MikaelAbehsera it won’t shoot flames with all those inserts in the Ixil slip on. Hard to tell if it will be worth it, since I would have done it differently if I still had the bike

Hi Dan, You could actually put on any slip-on of your choice on these headers. I have sold my Akrapovic short gp, cause it sounded too much for me to daily drive. But I’m looking for a new option of slip-on that has a db-killer aswell so I can choose how much it should sound.

​@@FLXIGN Hey mate did you find a muffler you like. I currently have a full akra but the stock akra muffler. Sounds good but i'd rather a smaller muffler for looks but hopefully with a removable db killer incase it is too loud.

@@JoshJ285 I was looking at the Dominator GP slipon and use that with one of their db killers. But after riding my bike as it is now with the headers and the stock Akra, I’m actually kinda satisfied with the sound 😊

When in idle I would say it's about 87db and when reving as the setup is now I measured it to about 95-97db. But with the Akrapovic short gp it went up to 119db

@@mbal4052 it actually was the previous owner who made these mods. But I think it runs really smooth and is like a complete monster in the higher rpm’s! 😎

Thanks Alex! Later on while I still had this bike, I swopped the slip-on to the original baffle but still with the Decat. Which in my opinion made the sound even better, spitting flames and stuff too! 😎👍🏼

@@ewyna4380 that’s strange. When I look back at it, I would’ve done it differently and taken my bike to someone who could make a custom tune/map instead of this Akrapovic map.

Yep, It felt to light in the front for me, so it got wobbly in higher speeds. Have been riding the S1000R previously, so I got myself a 2019 S1000R instead of the Duke 890R.
