Band of Burns
Registrace 10. 05. 2017
Band of Burns is a spellbinding ensemble show, charged with the virtuosic firepower of 12 top-of-their-game folk musicians. Originally intended as a one-off Burns Night concert, the group took flight and has been captivating audiences across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales ever since. The group will take you on a breathtaking journey from traditional to original music, all firmly rooted in a love and celebration of Scottish poet and songwriter Robert Burns. With 3 albums and 5 tours under their belt, they have performed everywhere from London’s famous Union Chapel to Celtic Connections Festival, Glasgow, and played live on BBC Radio 3 on Burns Night for 2 consecutive years. Expect soaring ballads, triumphant stomps, fiery fiddling and strident bagpipes - Band of Burns is an authentic, transportive experience that sees a new generation of folk musicians reaching deep into the past to have you singing and dancing all the way home.

Damn! That song fucking good!
One of the most beautiful and romantic songs ever written. This is a lovely contrast to Dick Gaughan's masterful version.
Wow❤
LOGAN ROY brought me here even if, as an Italian, I don't understand the words. Wonderful music and performance.
Sa voix me rappelle à la fois le fado portugais et quelque chose des traditions indiennes
I have this song on 6 different playlists. I never get tired of listening to this.
Is this song on any of her albums?❤
A+M+A+Z+I+N+G W+O+R+D+S ... Sung & Unsung!
Is she irish??
Yes indeed
Terrible!!! Sorry
The ignorance is breathtaking.
Just came across this version. I though Dick Gaughan’s version was superb So is this.
Beautiful version.
Green grow the rashes, O! Green grow the rashes, O! The sweetest hours that e'er I spend, Are spent amang the lasses, O! There's nought but care on every han' In every hour that passes, O; What signifies the life o' man, An 'twere na for the lasses, O? The warl'ly race may riches chase, An' riches still may fly them, O; An' though at last they catch them fast, Their hearts can ne'er enjoy them, O. But gi'e me a canny hour at e'en, My arms about my dearie, O, An' warl'ly cares an' warl'ly men May a' gae tapsalteerie, O! For you sae douce, ye sneer at this, Ye're nought but senseless asses, O; The wisest man the warl' e'er saw, He dearly loved the lasses, O. Auld Nature swears yon lovely dears Her noblest work she classes, O; Her 'prentice han' she tried on man, An' then she made the lasses, O.
Yeah but cribbing the words .
At first the tempo seemed just the tiniest bit slow, but oh my goodness, when the beautiful, beautiful vocals joined in with the ever so slight "steamroller" effect added, I was totally carried away. Don't change a thing kids. Thank you, and "Huzzah!" from Texas.
Stunning, love your beautiful portrayal of this song ❤
Her 'prentice han' she tried on man and then she made the lasses o - 😊
Hm, sadly, most people in the comments seem to be looking for fake Scottish accent rather than this wonderful interpretation. Maybe go look elsewhere ;-)
I've played this an embaracing amount lately. This bypassed my icey defences and strikes deep... Maybe my irish roots are being tickled. Lyrics are amazing and that voice! Ilove the dynamic way the band plays alwell. Skills! Thank you.
This is highly addictive music you are making! Thank you!
Me too. I play it over and over and over again. ❤️🙌
Rioghnach has indeed a bonny voice, and Westland Winds has many verses to it. A full set would consist of a multiplicity of songs. If you watch closely you will see that she uses a phone/ wee tablet !

Not good
Is she died yet?
she is great but lets be honest. She is kinda overweight.
So beautiful. This breaks me up - listening to it gives me a true grasp of my late dads love for his native rural South Ayrshire - and the wonderful poetry of Robert Burns❤
That was pretty sublime. Thanks!
What a voice. Fantastic performance.
My favourite rendition of one of my favourite songs. Magical Rioghnach, thank you x
Rabbi would have loved this and, likely, Miss Connolly as well 💓
