As a teenager, what stuck with me about this scene was the amazing visuals and music. As an adult, I can't help but focus on how much Yuri and Kato feel like old friends. It's notable that even though Kato is a powerful enemy, no one has trouble turning their back to him to look at Yoriwara. He may be severely misguided, but they seem to know Kato wouldn't just attack them from behind. Not all of this game has aged well, but Kato has.

He left his true strength with Maria and Seibzehn.......the fact he left a fail safe to talk to Maria and unlock Seibzehn's capabilities literally verified that he had doubts with Achtzehn and wanted to leave a "true" message for his daughter.....a message of hope, forgiveness and understanding
