    All season long, Princeton played man to man. Carril surprised UCLA with zone, recognizing their strength was their inside game and their lack of three point shooters while also countering UCLA's size advantage.

    Thank you for great Princeton Offense video. MY name is Tsuyoshi Harada, from Japan. Please let’s tell you my story about the Princeton Offense. I started basketball at 11, I watched Los Angles Lakers vs Sacramento Kings game in 2002 NBA playoffs. I was very moved Kings beautiful offense. Through the game, I learned the importance of passing, teamwork. In my basketball career, Kings is one of the most fantastic team. After graduating from college, I became a coach of the alma mater college’s women basketball team. I building the team based on the Princeton Offense, then everything has changed. The players who can’t play without instructions from a coach, are able to select the play by themselves. To incorporate the backdoor cut, we can compete against the stronger. Through the Princeton Offense, the players not only improve the basketball skill, but also acquired the cooperativeness & autonomy. This learning lives in their life. Those the players’ growth changes my mind towards basketball, and I was very happy. In 2017, I share these experiences to internet, raising the belief “the smart take from the strong”. And then, many people are interested the Princeton Offense. Now, 1345 people are participating the Princeton Offense community. In the community, I share the explainer video of Princeton Offense, and communicate with coaches and players. This community is working to create and systematize Princeton Offense textbook. Through the community, many people change their mind award basketball. The coach who are stressed against the player’ play before learning the Princeton Offense, can trust the player’ play and build the team together. This is great thing in the life, I think. The Princeton Offense and the belief “the smart take from the strong” has being influencing on many people’s basketball and life. I’m sincerely grateful. I aspire to deepen the Princeton Offense and pass on the experience of Mr. Pete Carril and people who experienced the Princeton Offense, for the rest of my life. To do this, I think it is necessary to inherit Mr. Pete Carril thought about the Princeton Offense. And I think this is my mission of life. I'm planning to go to America to study the Princeton Offense in nezt 1year. I'm look forward to watching your videos, and meeting you one day. Thank you for reading. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

      Thank you for the post, it’s very much appreciated! I’m humbled anyone watches my basketball films, let alone people from Japan. It’s unbelievable to me! I’m also fascinated by teams that run Princeton, it’s really unbeatable if you can teach it well. But it takes full commitment, and it can look really bad if all 5 players can’t execute together. Best of luck to you!

    I love the Princeton offense. Aside from strictly running the Low Series, what kind of stuff can you do if you have a dominant low post player?

    • @CoachingStrategies
      @CoachingStrategies Před 2 lety

      You can run Point and let the post player go 1 on 1 from the elbow. You can also run High Post (“Turn-Out”) and let the post run the offense from the top of the key in a 5 out formation.

    • @codycunard5589
      @codycunard5589 Před 2 lety

      @@CoachingStrategies all true, but I was just kind of curious peoples thoughts with having a traditional back to the basket big man that can dominate close to the basket. Wasn’t sure if there were any Princeton actions/series besides low that would compliment this type of player.

      @gswxos Před 9 měsíci

      @@codycunard5589 this video really has every option run. If you run the offense all the way through, you can see that you're going to have multiple chances every possession of getting the ball in the post...if you're looking for another offense that highlights your low post, and has a ton of Princeton concepts take a look at the Popovich spurs motion weak offense.

    The team was not playing very good defence. It has nothing to with beating the Packline. It's all about the effort on defence and shots falling.

    • @theflash1508
      @theflash1508 Před 2 lety

      Agreed, when shots fall, no defense can stop good shooting. Especially if outside shooting is what you want the offense to do in order to get stops. When the shooters start making shots, you should get pressure on the outside to get them to move before their shot in order to keep them out of rythm.
