Awesome tip! Found this right after battling new cans and not knowing why the lids would not come off. Could not believe how easily the caps unscrewed off after tapping the lids around the edge with a small mallet.

Talk about having niche question. 😂 I’m so glad I found your video. It’s gives me some hope for my RV/tiny home on wheels. I have a potential for a great spot to put it on private property, but the main obstacle is their septic tank is uphill from the site. Not an intense uphill, maybe 3 feet rise over 20 feet, but my house uses a gravity septic tube like an RV. I don’t have any tanks to store any black or gray water so it needs to be always able to drain. I can’t choose when to drain it. I would love and appreciate any ideas or help! Thank you very much.

Our septic is 50yrs old. It is now considered outsode code. No one can work on it because of that. Spending thousands of dollars for a new system isnt an option so I'm learning from YT how to handle problems when they come up. Right now after rain...i mean off and on ALL DAY rain for almost 2 weeks off and on with maybe a day inbetween has caused my septic to back up. We had no problems during hurricane Harvey a few yrs ago when most of my city flooded and had 9 people staying in my 2 bathroom home. But in the past year ive noticed air bubbles from the toilet when we shower ir run the washer. We disconnected the washer from the drainpipe and set it to water my flowers. That helped alittle. I had husband on the roof checking the vents. They appear clear. We just got pumped in June. Guy said tank was overfilled and i need to pump more often. And now we have toilets that dont flush and tank that is overflowing when the tank cleanout cap is removed. My guess is my outlet pipe is clogged AND i have a clogged main pipe from my house. I'm thinking i will dig up the distribution box being i probably need to divert to a couple new leach field rows and check for roots. We have a lot of trees. I suspect some crushed pipes etc. Prob easier to just dig new trenches and place new pipe. Then i will add a cleanout off the main inlet pipe close to my house. And snaking my line from the house out. I am also thinking risers would be wise being my tank is very old and may need work over time and digging those up is no fun at all.

Wonderful. Might be simple to those who know but wonderfully helpful for those who didn't know .... like me. I have the exact same circumstance. Things answered that I was curious about were 1) OK to bust off the old concrete baffle and let it fall into the tank? (Yes) 2) cap the top of the Tee (No) 3) straight Tee or Sanitary (Sanitary 4) I didn't realize there was a wet use PVC glue (there is). thank you again this video - well done and helpful.

Hey are you able to answer a quick question? I had my tank pumped and the very next day it was filled with water again. I used a sump pump and pumped it out again myself and when it was empty I could hear water literally rushing back into the tank. What could be causing this? Is there a crack in the tank maybe? Or do you think the drainage field is saturated.

Honest opinion, I remember as a child growing up on the farm loved the well water we had with a slight bit of iron, " Made me strong like Ox!". Now as an adult I hate all the extra chlorine and fluoride in my water depending on the season, hatted when the septic field backed up because of an unusually high water table and flooded my room in the basement as a child on the farm. Pros and cons to both but I do have a back flow installed in the city and if I want I can use a filter system to deal with the chlorine and even the fluoride if I want. I'd love to have the city sewer and a good well, but where I'm at I don't think I can have the best of both worlds. 😮‍💨

When we bought our home the spectic inspection revealed a broken T connector in the one system (there’s 2 here!) It was gonna cost me around $450 for a new one to be made but he wouldn’t install. Referred me to the guy who pumps out the tank. But now that I understand what he was talking about I might just tackle it myself

My house gets backed up during rain. I did some inspection on my pipes that go outside of the house to the septic and it turns out that in some spots the pipe is broken or par of it sagging and the opening looks like a football. Before I take my attention to the drain field, is it possible that my backup is due to pipes taking in water? Thanks

It’s only persistent when it rains, but once the rain stops, it goes away, and I hope you can help me out

Could be them driving over the leach field. A car shouldn't be an issue, but if they didn't know where it was at first and mistakenly drove over it, then that weight could have damaged it ironically.
