Theres an elderly gentlman lives down my street who stops and talks Chelsea with me as im a 60s supporter and hes A late 50s and he regales me with tales of stars from that era and only just yesterday prior to me seeing this he was talking about Bobby Tambling. Sheer coincidence.

As a 19 yr old in the early 80s I left Liverpool and went down south (Portsmouth) looking for work on the building Started work as a hod carrier for a brickie gang some other fella was on the hod as well we paired up running the bricks and muck After a few days he asked me who I supported Liverpool or Everton obviously coming from Liverpool I told him I was a blue nose COYBB the guy went on to blow my mind by disclosing he had scored the winner in the FA cup against Liverpool turned out it was Bobby A smashing humble man I was amazed to find Chelsea leading goal scorer of all time (at the time) carrying the hod I worked with Bobby for about 6 months and pestered him daily for his memories of his career and then moved on. I later heard that Chelsea had done the right thing and given him an ambassador role back with the club A proper gent and a memory from my past that I will never forget

Fantastic interview with the legend. I had the honour of playing in the same side as Bobby long after he had retired. He played a few games for a local Sunday team in Havant named Goodman’s. As a Left footer myself it was a pleasure and honour to play with him.

The Celtic fans in Northen Ireland and Rep of Ireland are fantastic. The club has a history with Irish mangers e.g. Liam Brady,Martin Oneill,Neil Lennon,Brendan Rodgers. Remember we will get world leagues in the future.
