Telluride Steve King of Festivus 2024
The 2024 Festivus season was the best I've seen in years. For Telluride Steve's 2 days the boat had over 200 bites, nuff said. Steve was pretty pumped and landed some really nice fish. The boat taped in those two days, 4 fish 22" and 1 fish 23". The Lower Colorado River is healthy as ever.

Simply gorgeous the wildlife we get to see each day out on the river. This Eagle is about the closest I've seen. Must have been finishing up lunch on the river bank.

John has been so great to me over our brief friendship showing me his fish, I just had to show him a little about my Festivus fish. He and Becky, got to see what it was about up here on the Colorado River. We caught lots of fish on top. One of the greatest things for my guide area is when a 20" plus fish swims 4-5 feet to eat a large Dryfly. The Big Brown lost on this video had that sort of eat.

Watch the Dolphins kinda say to us, "hey come over here! check this out!" The couple in front of the boat guided us to a group of them pushing and feeding on LY's. Behind the feeding frenzy were many size large Cobia following. Pretty Cool

Learn a new technique from Captain Howard on snag release which I had never seen. Nice video and action. I will be bringing my 15ft Alweld down and seen you launched on Elmer’s Island if I’m correct? I was wondering if you could launch off the road leading to the beach. I’m having trouble finding information saying you can. I know you can launch a kayak but unsure about small trailered boats. Great video once again keep it up.
I had the same question for the Game warden's. The answer I received was that, Kayak launches are ok for small boats. My expectation is the view of the refuge management is that a trailer and boat should not be so big as to damage the launches that were installed. As you know, if there are problems with any decisions by the public then the resulting policy will go to Kayaks only. Don't forget, it's required for you to check in on line to Elmer's and check out when you leave. They have been super nice to me so far and I hope that we all work together to continue small boat launching.
