Glarehead Presents - How to Tape a Rifle
zhlédnutí 1KPřed 5 lety
In this video, Glarehead aka Adam Albright shows you step by step how to properly tape a color guard rifle. Sorry about the low production quality and for not having a new rifle to tape! If I tried to get it all together I'd never get the video done! Oh and sorry for not really caring much about editing, either, for the reason mentioned previously.

How sturdy are these?
They are PVC so they are pretty sturdy. You’ll want to tape them on the stress points like a rifle so they last longer. Thanks for watching!
Can u do an in depth tutorial??
Sure! Here you go... czcams.com/video/fGOwMSMxDVA/video.html. and thanks for watching!
i see several of my friends in there ... through the fuzz... only because i know who was there do i recognize their sillouhette
Can u show how to do the that bounce on the arm toss?
Woah, that's sick! Might have to teach my friends this
@jBun12 Thanks! It's a fun move.
That’s not port
you are so helpful glarehead. i appreciate you
Thank you! I’m glad you found it helpful.
Please do a tutorial for this!
Hey there Summer, glad you liked it! I’ll put your request on my to do list. Thank you for your comment!
me watching this 7 years after it was posted like “can i put it in my show now? or will josie get mad at me? 😭”
That’s awesome! You go right ahead!
Outstanding skills.
Thanks!
Thank You for the longer video! I love your content!
You’re very welcome, and thank you for watching!
There are certain shows I always go back to, and many Avon Grove HS shows are included in that list!
Thank you so much! This show is one of my favorites. I saw a special on Bravo called Obsessed, and they showed a man who was obsessed with counting the knobs on his oven, one, two, three, four -- over and over again. It reminded me of "Einstein on the Beach," so I modified his narrative a little (I would have used his if there wasn't so much music in the background) and recorded it (That's me talking) and the other instructors came up with incorporating the numbers into the floor, flags, and uniforms.
this video is a little older than me!
I see a new trick that I need to learn
I used to watch your videos all the time as a teenager and learn your tricks, this was so surprising to see popping up on my feed!
Thanks, Jamiee!
Don’t ever delete this
This was one of the first color guard tricks I ever took a video of and uploaded here, so I won't delete it. Back then CZcams paid for each view instead of by the amount of watch time, and this eight-second video made me an easy hundred bucks! Thanks for watching!
this rifle looks huuugee
It is - I had it custom made, it's 45"! Great for armbusters and strength training!
I tried this so many times and just kept hitting myself in the head.
AJ, sorry to hear that! Make sure when you get the rifle into your elbow that it's all the way into the "neck" of the rifle at the pass (0;08 in the video). Then the weight of the rifle should swing up and way from your head. Good luck and thanks for watching!
very helpful! thankyou
Glad it was helpful for you! Thanks for watching!
OMG IM IN LENAPE HIGH SCHOOL COLOR GUARD AND I THINK I KNOW LYNN FROM RAIDERS AUDITIONS IN 2018/2019
Hmmm. I'm not sure if she worked with Raiders or not but thanks for watching!
:O
Go Uncle Adam You're doing great!
Thank you!!!
Captivating!
Thank you!
You're so amazing at what you do with color guard 💖 you are a huge inspiration to push myself to my limits and further with what I can do 💖
Thank you for your kind comments! That video was a lot of fun to make.
Amazing! Can’t wait to learn this one!
I've been terrible about making how-to videos! This one took a while for me to figure out, but the key is to make sure the neck roll is almost vertical instead of horizontal. Thanks for watching!
glarehead thank you for the tip!
Adam my rifle is going on 20 years. Bolt is busted and catches my thumb CONSTANTLY but I still spin. You guys look amazing now. Brouhaha 1999 will always be in my mind
That's awesome! Brouhaha 1999 was such a fun year!
hey glairhead I have a 21/2 inch and a 31/2inch bolts on my flag pole. would that be a good balance of weight? I'm trying to figure out how much weight I need in order to get my flag pole high enough to do a triple
That's a good balance of weight, although if you're stronger, increase the length of both bolts proportionately and you'll be able to make the flag spin faster. There are members on my team who can do a triple with the weights you're using, but it takes a strong, sharp release. Good luck and keep spinning!
please tutorial!!!
Did he coach penn? I’m currently spinning with them.
Yes, I coached at William Penn for two outdoor and two indoor seasons, 2007-2008.
@@glarehead And was the absolute best!!! Almost made me join indoor guard lol Best Regards! ( <----- Drum Major Jay All grown up lol)
@@jaycrawf91 Thank you for your kind comments! I had a BLAST the few years I coached at William Penn. The students were very talented and very hard workers, and the staff was one of the best groups I've ever had the privilege of working with.
I've been practicing drop spins every day for two month now and I never catched it right
I am so sorry to hear this. Has your instructor been able to help you?
Hey look I did it 😂!! instagram.com/p/ByvnwThlWtN/?igshid=vnlw1vih14sy
WHOA!!! I don't know how I missed this! GREAT JOB, Owen!!!
Why does your rifle look longer than 39 inches
I've had a few custom rifles made. I have one made of oak wood that is REALLY heavy, I have a 42", and a 45" that is a BEAST to spin. I think that one is my 42". Thanks for watching!
hey glarehead I went to both hardware stores in blackshear GA. neither of them had 7/16 thread count carrige bolts
when tossing a flag how do I get the pole to go higher? I'm having trouble getting a double
Make sure your pole is properly weighted. Put a 3 1/2" carriage bolt in the top of the flag and a 2 1/2" carriage bolt in the bottom. The added weight helps with the drag that the flag creates. There are many different preps you could be using to do a double, but regardless, make sure you're grabbing the pole well away from the center so you can get plenty of down/out motion before you release the flag. Good luck and thanks for watching!
@@glarehead your very welcome. and I'll make sure to get bolts this week
changed my life <3
For the better, I hope. <3
I really want to learn how to catch a parallel behind my back
It takes some practice, and it depends on what piece of equipment you're using to do it. Generally, you try to have the balance point land at your hip. I'll have to do a how-to about that when I get some time! Thanks for watching!
Oh wait... lol I was looking at the guy on the second row far right and was like. wow, that looks like a glare-less head, I wonder if that is him. then I looked at the channel as I was about to state the above and wow here we are.
Glarehead + hat = glare-less head! Thanks for watching!
All these are soo helpful!!!
Cece, thank you! I'm glad that you find them helpful.
Thx for this video it will help me so much on weapon
I’m glad that it helped you, thank you for letting me know. Keep spinning!
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching!
This exercise had helped me but I'm still struggling on catching blind on standard tosses.
I'm glad it helped you! Blind tosses aren't easy - what really helps with standard tosses is that you place your catching hand at the same height it would be if you were doing a regular catch. Good luck and keep trying!
so beautiful ! i learned your sabre leg roll ! love all your tricks !
Thanks for the feedback, Justine!
Tutorial please😂
Okay, I'll put this on my to-do list... Thanks for the feedback!
what the poo that’s so cool
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
I'm gonna steal this for my winter guard audition if you don't mind
Go right ahead, you're more than welcome! Post a link to your video!
TUTORIAL PLEASE
Sure! There's a link on the video but it goes away fast. goo.gl/GXSckv
It sounds like the beginning of the incredible's song in the background!! That's what my band and guard are doing this year!!😄😄
Actually, that's the start to "House of the Rising Sun." We're doing kind of a western thing this fall. What are you doing?
We are doing the incredibles 😁and my band and guard are super excited for it! I showed my team one of your moves and they thought it was awesome! They tried to do it too lol some of them got it 😂
Will you be putting your show on the channel?
Excuse me??
Why, what happened?
Is spinning a rifle is only for left hand or both right and left ?
Both right and left.
