70-year-old here. Greatest game I’ve ever seen, and I had ZERO allegiance for, or interest in, either team. I just wanted to watch a game. Again, greatest game I ever saw at any level, and still the only one I’ve gone back and re-watched over and over.

This rivalry was pure hatred. I can’t wait to watch all them dirty rat birds cry to sleep whenever Hines ward gets inducted into the HOF. It’s long overdue imho. Same with James Harrison.

This is the greatest sports game ever played. There's an ESPN article that says, "Boise State-OU destroyed press box professionalism" -- when in the press box, journalists aren't supposed to cheer or react to the game they're covering, but this game was different: "And when the Broncos lined up and went for two points and the win, and quarterback Jared Zabransky faked a pass and slipped the ball behind his back, and running back Ian Johnson grabbed it and sped around the left end and scored... We all lost it. 'Statue of Liberty!' I screamed to no one in particular, after springing out of my chair. 'They ran the Statue of Liberty! Are you [bleeping] kidding me?'"

I loved the Hines/Reed battles. The illest part of this one is that he hasnt even completed the hit yet and he already sees Ed not moving and starts signaling to the Ravens sideline.

Absolutely eye-goggling. I was living on the west coast, came home to visit my family after New Year's we had a late dinner, came home, was watching this upstairs and trying to kill my screams. Unlike anything I have ever seen. Arguably the greatest college football game ever. Underdog goes all the way to the kitchen sink to take down a mighty, proud program that made no mistakes. It was everything any college football fan could hope for. And then Ian Johnson proposing marriage to his cheerleader girlfriend. My heart.

Ed Reed is, along with Troy P, the greatest to ever play his position. As a Steelers’ fan, I both hated him and wanted him simultaneously. He was so DAMN GOOD, as an NFL Fan, I had nothing but absolute awe and admiration. HATED his Team, but had mad respect for the player. But, he was a problem on the field and football is a physical game, requiring the head to be, literally, on a swivel 24/7 while on the field of play. Many say this is a dirty hit. It was not. The reason it was so impactful was that Ed Reed thought that he was ‘untouchable’. He was so dominant as his position, for ALL TO SEE, but most importantly, the NFL Referees/Linesman/Umpires etc… The NFL Officials, like those of all sports, tend to give preferential treatment to the true ‘Super Stars’ of the league. As a result of this, Ed Reed was able to use his justly-earned reputation to wreak havoc on QBs and dominate WRs. He needed to be shown that his ‘ALL ACCESS PASS’ was Null and Void against the Steelers…. And the ONLY WAY to do it was on the field, in a game, and with ‘extreme prejudice’. Enter Hines Ward. He delivered the hit and the message with devastating precision and maximum effect. Hall of Fame play from a Hall of Fame player.
