Hi Sean...most all of the work was performed by a friend of mine with assistance from my grandson...I did a little hands on but not enough to take credit for. Good luck on rebuilding yours. I enjoy driving mine more now than I did when it was new.
I really enjoyed your video. I have a 68 coupe that badly needs restoration. It's the 200 I-6. Did you use any type of manuals or books for reference during your work? Any tips? Mine wasn't in great condition when I got it, and it's been sitting for about 8 years.
This is one of the BEST songs ever and I love the easy way Bobby Edwards sings! I sang this song for many years in a few bands I played and sang in, and I still sing it now at different jams.....Last time I sang it was in October 2016 in North Vancouver, BC.......Bobby Edwards.....ONE OF THE VERY BEST!!
I wish ol' was still around. I love it!!
Thanks it does bring back memorizes
I had the opportunity to play with Bobby back in 1968. I wish I could remember Curly's last name the steel player that was with him then. Graham Williamson was there along with myself and Jim Pennywitt
No one sings this one as well as Bobby No one
Debra...are you related to Mildred Doss??
JOhn Fogerty did a GREAT cover of this on his Blue Ridge Rangers album, a hidden gem of country music. I first heard this song by Bobby Edwards in 1961 when I moved to Los Angeles and got hooked on the country/western radio station. That's where I became a fan of country music.
It was sad when Bobby passed away..but we know he is now with our Heavenly Father and as you say...I'm sure he's singing up a storm with many others that have gone on before including your dad. Thanks for the comment Debra.
SO SWEET. UNCLE BOB WAS SUCH AN AMAZING MAN! HE WILL SINCERELY BE MISSED! I WOULD LOVE IF YOU POSTED "BRING MY BABY HOME"
What a great man my Uncle Bob was! He passed July 31, 2012. He was a legend and is truly missed! WE LOVE YOU UNCLE BOB! REST IN PEACE!
Charles, great job! RIP, Bobby.
Isn't this fa-so la singing? My grandfather used to belong to a fa so la group :-)
Glad you enjoyed this old favorite as much as I do. It's one you don't hear on the radio anymore.
He sang the best version- great voice- beautiful song.
@jndobbie Thanks for the kind words....I'm sure Bobby will appreciate it.
@striblingfh Not that I'm aware of.
did bobby edwards ever live in Union,S>C>
Sharp looking cars my friend. I was in the red '70 Chevelle SS at the beginning of the montage. My '68 Mustang was still in the shop having engine rebuilt. It was a great show and enjoyed it.
I was there :) I rode in QuikSilver, the 1 off mustang shown at 6:28. Was also with the beautiful Cuda at 5:06
Beautiful Love Song of the Great Legend
Ashamed to admit I`d never heard of Edwards, but his is my kind of country music. I`m also finding out there are a lot of other "forgottened " artists out there to be rediscovered, so please do like you said about future videos---I`ll be looking forward to enjoying more. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed the video...Bobby and I go back a long ways as well. I hope to do another video montage of Bobby in the near future with some newer photos and maybe another one of his hit songs so stay tuned...thanks for the comment..Charles
what about all the other lovely songs that bobby edwards sang where can i get the words and videos of these, can someone help, please
Yes he does.
Thanks Doug, I'm glad you enjoyed the montage. Bobby has been a close friend of mine for many many years and we've played a lot of shows together. The backup singers were a group called "The Four Young Men". Thanks for your comment.
Love this song as this is the version I was looking for. I remember this playing on the juke box when I was a young boy back in the early 60s and always like it. Great song, great singer... love the back up singers, too.
Thanks for the posting. One of my all time favorite songs. This song got up to #2 in 1961on the New York City record charts where I am from. Just goes to show that people everywhere love a great song.
love the Hank Williams III version (:
And tell him I'm singing it down in Australia too. Hope he gets a royalty check now and then. Mick
Five stars!!!
I've looked for different versions of this song and this is my very favorite. I listen to it over and over again and never tire. What a smooth voice. Thank you so much for posting this.
brings back great memories of when i was a kid-took a while to find this song---love it
As a collector of early R&B group harmony music, I have to say that this is one of my favorite country songs along with Hank and many others. I love this song and Bobby Edwards!!!!!!!!
This is one of those songs that you never get tired of hearing..and I remember when it came out, It was quite a crossover song in Central California, Thanks for putting it on, Cheers!
Your Uncle Bob is a great man. I've worked shows with him over the years and he is a very dear friend.
this is my uncle bob...i love the pics with rachel and bradley...!! i love my uncle bob
This is the first time i have heard t.he original.Eesily the best
Thanks for the kind words. If you find the right station, it can still be heard. Mostly the stations that play traditonal country music. I've heard it several times on our local radio station. You might try calling and requesting it. Thanks.
I have to agree with you. It's been covered by over 30 artists. I'll pass the kind words on to Bobby.
This is a good one***** Thank you Shirley for sending.
Thank you so much for the kind comment. Greatly appreciated.
What can I say? Yesss! Five stars man! Great playing, but above all, it's so refreshing to see families bonding!
You are so right, they don't write them like this anymore. Thanks for the kind words.
I have another track by Bobby Edwards "A Fool For Loving You" which was released in the late fifties. I have not yet seen it on CZcams.
Thank you for this fab history lesson of one of country musics great forgotten songs! I was 7 years old when it came out and remember my mother singing to it all the time!!!
