Wow. Was 6 when Del did this. It's funny but years later I heard this song in American Graffiti and man, I was hooked.From that moment on as a teenager of the early 70's I wasn't into hard rock but into early 60's. Del, you weren't Elvis or the Beatles but man you were a star and runaway is up there as one of the best songs

At a Beatles concert in Hammersmith in the 60's, had the pleasure of meeting Del Shannon, he was sitting behind us, and my friend noticed him, I got talking to him, and he was so nice gave me all his loose change from his pocket. it was not till we got back home that we wondered if he went round the back to meet the Beatles and we could have asked him if we could go with him.
